Last Thursday night a blind
man gave an entertainment at
Trion, which afforded a good deal
of amusement. I am highly in
fayor of any and all entertain
ments that are moral and instruct
ive. Factory people aro neces
sarily very much confined during
work hours, and they ought to
have a chance to enjoy themselves
as often as possible. Let us have
as many “gatherings” as possi
ble. There is nothing bettor un
der tin l sun than that a man
should enjoy tho fruits of liis
labor.

Robert. L.Bryant of Trion sends

Thos. Purcell who livod in this
county many years, but who for
the last eight years lias been liv
ing in North Alabama was at
Trion Sunday. He called round
to see me. I was glad, very glad
to see him. It is strange, yet
true, that tho older wo become
the more we cherish way back
acquaintances and friends. Thos.
Purcell always seemed to luo to
lie a strictly honest man. I love
! an honest man, even if I may not
jbo one myself. Yes, give mo a
; man who when he tolls mo a thing
is true, let it be true.
