Frank Williams is back home
from Atlanta, where be has been
spending several weeks.
Martin Stephenson came in
from Texas, last week, and will
spend several days here visiting
relatives.
The young {people enjoyed a
social party at A. B. R. Cooper's
Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. T. A, Williams
and Miss Nida Williams spent
Christmas here with relatives.
Hr. V. R. Stephenson and
fumily of Grandview, Texas, came
in last week and will spend sever
al days here vimtmg relatives and
friends. Mr. Stephenson, formerly
lived here but moved to Texas
Several years ago. He *is doing
well in the Lone Star State.
Mr. S. A. West has moved bis
family back from Menlo to his
farm at this place. We are glad
to have Mr. West back with us.
Mr. Waters while cutting stove
wood several days ago was unfor
tunate in having a splinter to fly
up and strike him in the eye. Asi

has come very near losing tht
sight of his eye.

A startling incident, of which
Mr. John Oliver of Philadelphia,
was the subject, is narrated by

will move to this place soon. We
are sorry to lobo such neighbors
as Mr. and Mrs. Weaver.
Brother L. we hardly think it
is right for us to start a piece on
our proposed debate as we have
never received much satisfaction
from the correspondents. Oue of
the correspondents has seen
Capt. Napier, in regard to this
matter. He seemed to favor the
suggestion.

and mother visited in Greenleaf

of two prominent young men of
onr place. Jas. Pearce sou of the
late W. F. Pearce, died on
Deo. 23rd, and was buried on Sat
urday a. m. Dec. 24th. Byron Ray
who died on Dec. 26th. will be
buried at Chickamanga to day.
Mrs. John AVildsmith returned
from Knoxville with her husband
to spend Christmas. Mr. John
Wiidsmith Sr. is in very feeble
health.
Robt. Gentry Las a baby thut
is not expected to live.
The Sabbath school at this
place had a Christmas tree on
Christmas eve. Everything passed
