dress was inspiring puts it mildly
Then after Bra. Berry * address we
all repaired t j the banquet hall for
refreshments and here this part of

Will McClure, colored, who some
weeks ago deserted bis wife here and
departed for parts unknown with
the daughter of Henry Forney, a
well known colored citizen of La-
Fay el te. was located the first of the
week at ll;.t Springs. Ark., where
be was arrested by officers there at
’ the request of Sheriff Garmanv.
McClure has refuse! to re
turn to tleorgis without requisi
tion pane**, but it is thought there
will be no delay in having tbe Gov
ernor of Arkansas honor the requi
sition of Gov. Brown.
As soon as the necessary papers
are secured Bailiff J. S. Tate will
leave for Hot Springs to bring the
prisoner back to Georgia.
The annual meeting of tbe stock
holders of the LaFayftte Cotton
Mills ns held Saturday at tbe
company's office, a majority of tbe
capital stock being represented
All the old officers and directors
were elected for the ensuing year

Mrs. C. S. Massey spent Saturday

Mrs. Satin Cots was the guest of
Mrs. J. H Scarbrough one day last
week.

Spend The D»v Party
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Crutchfield
entertained with a spend the day
party at their country tome near
Fiintstoae one day last week. The
guests went oat on the noon car and
were met at the end of the carlice
by the oost with a transfer wagon
and a hay ride was enjoyed.
Luncheon was serrea at 1 o’clock
and the afternoon was devoted to
amusements Eighteen guests from
the city comprised the party that
enjoyed Mr. and Mrs. Crutchfield's
hospitality. .
