fastest on bases, leading the team in
stolen bases. G. Rich led the team in
I base hits. T. Rich led ill borne
runs with 5, closely pressed by Fin
cher, the big catcher, with i. Lough
ridge also bit 2 over the fence, for

played fewer games than the rest of
the players, but helped in winning
several games.
Lafayette hopes to have most all'
these boys another year, and if we
do we know we will have another
good team as the boys will all be
even better next year.

Cliickamaiiiia's Record
(By a Chickamauga Fan)
Chicknmauga base ball team bad a
very successful year with Manager
Mcdiegor at its bead. This is the
third season that lie has managed
this team, and every year lie has put
out an amateur ball team that
most any town would be glad to
claim, having won Hie bigger pro
portion of theii games each season.
The season of 1915 tie carried bis
leam into 26 games and won 21 of
them. This year they played 31
gamer lost 8 won 22. Tied 1.
Chickamauga fans wish to thank
Manager McGregor and his team for
the .‘bowing that they have made in
these years past and only hope that
they will continue to show their su

ported having the best time of their
lives.
Chickamauga is a hard team to
beaL they never know that they are
beaten until the last ball is thrown.
When at bat, and a hit is needed to
make a run it would be a hard task
to pick a batter that they bad rath
er see up, for one is as sure as
the other, and generally you can
count on I lie one up to deliver the
goods. On looking over the records
of this year we find that on five dif
ferent occasions that we bud won
our game in the last half of the
iiinll. inning and in one game we
were four runs behind.
THE PLAYERS
Anderson on first base—wc believe
that we have the most valuable
player in this territory. He is a
bard bitter and can field his posi
tion better than lots of professionals.
(Nub) Madaris at second, is a good
little fellow, is a good bitter and a
fast fielder, and the fellow to beat
him out of this joli would have to
go some.
Whitnor at short, can always be
depended on both in the field and at
bat. He lias more than delivered
the goods. Witli him and Madaris
around second base makes it bard
to ge! a ball past this station.
Elder at third, is a good man to
have ground while not playing on
Ibe infield he makes us a good out
fielder.
McGregor r>„ in left field, covers a
lot of ground, has a good arm and
when at bat all the fielders back
back; lie is a bard bitter.
Hudicil in center field, is bard lo
beat when it comes to covering
ground. He is one of the best out
fielder in this part of the country.
Blair, in right field, (we call him
home- run Blair), is a good fielder
and can count on him to bust in with
a bit most any time on any pitcher
no matter how good.
Smith behind the bat. In him wo
believe we have the best catcher
(take him all the way round) in this
part of the country. He lias a good
arm and is a dandy receiver. Hits
well.
Dudderar pitching. He lias bad
good luck this season, only loosing
one game for us all the year. We
think a lots of him as a pitcher. At
bat is as good as the best ones.
While not lie plays out
field, where lie is equally at borne.
.1. Madaris Pitcher. He has lots of
speed and good breaks. We are ex
pecting great things out of him next
season.
The whole secret of this learn is:
When part are not hitting the rest
of them are.
The team as a whole wishes to ,
thank the fans and Crystal Spring,
Bleachery Co., for the loyalty and i
support that they have given us this I
past season. VV'e only hope that we i
ran show them even better base 1
bail next year, and fee! sure we can
as long as they are as loyal to us as
they have been in the past.
