ting the Valor and Sacrifices of Our Own World War
heroes, and in celebration of the cessation of hostilities
of Nations. This Institution will close its doors for
the occasion and urges the proper observance of this
great day in this section.

relatives and friends.

Friday November 11th., being Ar
mistice day and a legal holiday, both
the Bank of LaFayette and the Walk
cr County Bank will be closed. The
public will take due notice of this
announcement .
The Lend-A-Hand Club will give
a box supper Monday evening, Nov.
21st., at eight o’clock, at the West
LaFayette school building. The pro
ceeds will be used in buying equip
ment for the new school building.

very active to he of the age they are
she being 60 and he 72. They walked

A very delightful social event
among the High School Set was (he
party al which Miss Laura Frances
Steele entertained at the home of
her parents Mr and Mrs. R. S. Steele.
The entire lower floor was thrown
open to the guests and yellow and
while chrysanthemums were used
lin profusion for decoration. Rook
was played at six tables and ialer
Roy Phipps won the prize in a
guessing contest.
Laie in tho evening an attractive
ice course was served carrying out
the yellow and while color scheme
and much fun ensued from the cut
ting of the hostess’ beautiful birth
day cake which contained all the
well-known symbols.

To Embroidery Circle
A most enjoyable meeting of the
Eirtbroider’y circle was held last
Thursday afternoon with Mrs. I. 11.
Holloman. The hostess’ home was
unusually attractive, many varieties
of bright-colored flowers in pretty
arrangement decorating the living
room. An interesting contest was a
part of the evening’s entertainment,
and the members also enjoyed the
hour spent in sewing l . Mrs. W. B
Shaw received the vote for the pret
tiest work on display. Mrs. Stewart
Wright, of Atlanta a former mem
ber of the circle was present, and
Mrs. 8. W. Fariss, Jr., was a special
guest. Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Hunt
assisted Mrs. Holloman in serving a
delicious salad course followed by a
sweet course. The next meeting will
be held with Mrs. Paul AVTight.
