WALKER COUNTY MESSE NGER, NOVEMBER 18, 1921.
NOBLE WOMAN PASSES
TO HER REWARD
Mrs. Hannah C. Glenn aged GO, who
died October 29th at her home in
Chickaniauga, Ga., was a life long
resident of Walker county. Mrs.
Glenn’s death ocurred after a long
illness of blood poison and other
complications. She united with the
Baptist church at the age of 16 years
and was a loyal and faithful mem- I
her until death. She was buried on i
the forty-third anniversary of her!
marriage to George P. Glenn. He
died in 1905.
She was the mother of twelve
hildren, ten of whom survive. They

It was Mrs. Glenn’s life long
prayer to see ail of her children
grown and become Christians, and
to her knowledge this prafo'er was
fulfilled, each of her children be
coming members of the Baptist
church.
The Glenn family is one of the old
est and best known families in this
county. What is known as the Glenn
home was occupied by this family
for more than 100 years.
One of the largest crowds that ev
er gathered at the Chickaniauga
Baptist church attended the funeral
of this beloved woman. Rev. George
McClure pastor of the Chickaniauga
Baptist church was the officiating
minister. A large concourse of sor

SUNDAY SCHOOLS TO OBSERVE
NOV. 20 AS DAY OF PRAYER
DISARMAMENT CONFERENCE
The Sunday schools in Georgia
are being called upon and urged to
observe Sunday, November 20th, as
a day to pray for the disarmament
conference, which will be in ses
sion at Washington at that time,
the conference beginning on Nov.
11th.
“It is fitting and right that the
Sunday Schools observe such a day,
said It. I>. Webb, General Superin
tendent of the Georgia Sunday
School Association. “All the world
staggers today under I lie burden
placed upon its shoulders by the
most cruel war of all history. Every
Sunday school in Georgia feels the
load. The gold slurs on the Service
Flag, now folded away Iml not for
gotten, fell ol the losses of young
men in whom we had high hopes of
greatness in manhood. The civilian- j
lion of the future depends upon the
training we are giving the boys and
girls now found in the Bible classes
of our Sunday school. May we of
Georgia, teach, them the word and j
Hie wuy of a lifo ol constructive
service rattier than lo leach them j
to become familiar wiLli the destruc ,
tive art of war. Our belief 4s that,
the absolute safely for the U. S. is to j
obtain entire disarmament.”
Many schools will d -s re to use a j
special program for tins day, and j
the Georgia Sua 800 l Associa- j
tion, 917 Hurt Bldf, Atlanta will be
prepared to give out. copies of sag- j
ge.sted programs for "Disarmament
I >ay.”
