A few turkeys have survived Thanksgiving. ■■ Os course, you’re coming to tin* big sales Monday. There is no place where educa tion shows its value more than on , the farm. Little more than three weeks and that fine old gentleman Santa Claus—will be here. / Are you a drone? Have you ev er asked yourself that question? Does your community bear out the fact, that you and your neigh bors are asleep? Think of what you may do and what your com munity may do and take off your coat and go to work at something worth while for your community. .I■■ ■ i ■■ NEXT MONDAY A 810 DAY | In this issue appeal’s the an- | nounceincrit of the Farmer’s Auc tion Sale Day and the Merchants’ Golden Rule Sale Day. Both are . scheduled for next Monday. i The Farmers’ Auction Sale \yill be held before the courthouse door at 10:110 o’clock. To this sale the I farmer may bring any live stock,, j second hand farming implements or used household furniture he 1 may desire to turn into money and have it auctioned off. The j merchants of the town will defray j all expenses of the sale and the sale is to be fair and square to all. !; It a farmer desires lo put a price oa tile article he offers for sale, he I may do so provided he will let i the auctioneer know the price he j wants for it before the sale be- j ginii. If no price limit is placed on the article then it will lie sold to the highest bidder. This sale simply gives the farm- j ers in this section a elutnee to turn j some of their farming tools, live | stock or household furniture that - they do not need into money. ' The Golden Rule Sale announc ed by the merchants, is a sale of so:, .lahle articles, offered on that day at bargain prices. The goods offered for sale are not shelf-worn or hard stock that the merchants desire to sell, but new, fresh stock which they are offering for a bar- , gain. The idea of the sales is one of, 1 town and community co-operation J for mutual benefit, whereby town and country citizens may estab- \ lish better confidence in eaeh oth- 1 er and co-operate together for mu- 1 tual profit. 4 , The success of the sales next j Monday will be watched with deep i interest, and it is the plan of the Advertising club to continue th# | sales the first Monday iu eaeh , month, should the project prove •successful. The sales are no 'catch-penny proposition or skin game scheme, but are put on in absolutely good faith, and the sales are hack ed with the guarantee from the business men of the town. Look over the bargains offered | by the m rehants, read the an- j ;t mein . ad plans of the aue- j lion sale, and next Monday bring the wife and children; and also !>rin'■ s<mietlii.|g to sell. The Sales j an be a wonderful thing for the | people of this section of they will j co-operate with the idea, and we j believe thev will.
