News from S W Fariss, Jr., who

lowing an attack of hemorrhage of

While coming to town Wednes
day afternoon, .1 S Underwood hap
pened lo a painful injury. He was
[driving his mules to a double surrey

of the tongue to the surren broke,

in salesmanship, and at the same
time provides them with a mdthod.

interesting lecture to the students,
explaining the present day need for

play: “How Not to Sell and How to

followed up by the students in their
practical sales work this week.
The school is divided into two
teams, the Bulldogs with James
Stiles as leader, and the

DILI) SATURDAY MORNING
Jerry Massey died at his home al
Dillon Ga. Saturday morning at 2
o’ciock. He had been in declining
health for so mo time and had been
confined b> his oom fur several
months. He was 7(5 years of age.
Surviving him besides his widow
are seven children-—2 girls and 5
hoys and one, brothel’.
Mr. Massey was an old resident
of Lookout Mountain and he and
his family have a host of friends
who mourn the death of this good
man. He was a devoted Christian,
always kind and cheerful, was not
ed for his honesty and truthfulness
and was liked hy all who knew Dim.
He had lie,voted the past, few years
of his life to the raising of live of
his liltle grandchildren.
The shadow of a great sorrow has
fallen upon Lookout Mountain. Mr.
Massey is dead. The, people of Look
out moimtaiu need no exhortation
to do honor to Dis rnotnory. His kind
ness and honesty have forever en
shrined him in their hearts.
The hearts of file people are hea
vy with sorrow. Our grief is natural
and proper, our mourning unreserv
ed and sincere for Mr. Massey lias
not left cherished silver and gold but
something more that we admire
wliirli is a beautiful character. For
kind words can never die, A life so
pure, a career so illustrious, may
well serve as an < varnpK; In rising
generations. Considering that the
Almighty has seen tit in his wisdom
to call from earth the sod of a citi
zen who was beloved by all. Le! uS

live a life so reach the poo?ly gales,
that we will again see Mr. Massey.
