After the degree work was conferred

The Young People's Class of the M.
E. Church South enjoyed a social at
the home of James Carter on McFar
land Avenue Thursday evening. Con
tests, games and music were enjoyed
until a late hour when refreshments
were served.
Circle No. 2 of the M. E. Church
South will enjoy a spend-the-day par
ty with Mrs. Mack Beavers ait her
home at Midway Wednesday. Circle.
No. 2 of the First Baptist church will
meet Wednesday afternoon with Mrs.
M. L. Aiken at her home on Cedar
Hill. Mrs. John Boyd, chairman of the
circle will have charge of this pro
gram.
Rev. P. P. Martin, T. A. Murray and
Mr. and Mrs. R. R .McKohan have re
turned from Jasper Tenn. where they
attended the District Conference of
the M E. Church South. They report
a very interesting meeting and among
the eight young men who were licens

wards will regret to know that she is
ill of appendicitis at her home here.
Mr. and Mrs. George Cushman of
Chattanooga were the spemd-the-day
guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Clark
at their home here Sunday.
Doyle Couch, who was seriously
burned at his home near LaFayette
several weeks past and who has been
at the home of his uncle, Troy An
derson at this place for several days
will go this week to a Chattanooga
hospital for treatment.
G. R. Peevy of Ft. Oglethorpe was
the guest Sunday of her sister, Mrs.
Frank Reichard at her home on East
Gordon Avenue.
Mrs. Scott has returned to hex
home at Ft. Payne, Ala., after a visit
with her daughter, Mrs. T. E. Stone
at her home on Cedar Hill.

Rev. J. E. O’Qui/nn has returned
from a trip to Augusta where he has
been conducting revival services at
the Wood lawn Baptist church at that
place.

were the dinner guests of Mrs. Mary
