Chickamauga, Ga. June 25—Revival
service* which have been in progregs
at the Presbyterian church for the
past two weeks closed Sunday evening
with a splendid service. The Rev. L.
C. Vass has been delivering strong ser
mons at each service and the commu
nity has been greatly benefited by
the meeting. On Sunday morning a
b.f,children were baftized and
several members were added to the
church. Dr. J. J*. Anderson, the local
pastor has been assisting i; the ser
vices and he and the Evangelist left
for their homes at LaFayette and
Dalton Monday.
Mrs. D. F. Hamilton was hostess
to the No. 1 circle of the Presbyterian
church at her home on Wilder Ave
nue Monday evening. Mrs. J. L.. Row
land was the leader at this meeting
and the 10th Chapter of Acts was |
.studied, the'Saxe method being used.]
The next meeting will be held with
Miss Bessie Dalton.
The B Y P U of the First Baptist;
church motored to Warner's Park
Tuesday afternoon where a picnic
supper was spread and a delightful
evening spent enjoying the pleasures
of the Park.
The Junior Missionary Society of
the Methodist church held a very in
teresting meeting with its president.
Miss Cole Wheeler at her home on
Wilder Avenue Tuesday afternoon. A
missionary program was given, each
member telling a short story of the
life of some foreign missionary. After
the business meeting and program an
ice course with cake was served by
the hostess.
Little Miss Bettie Joe Skeen was
the hostess to a number of her little
friends at her home near here Tues
day afternoon, the occasion being in
honor of her second birthday. The
home was prettily decorated in sum
mer flowers carrying out a color
scheme of yellow and pink. The little
guests were invited into the dining
room where the central decoration of j
the dining table was a pretty white
birthday cake ornamented with two
pink candles. An ice course with cake !
and fruit was served to the little I
guests by the honoree's mother, Mrs. |
Eva Skeen. During the afternoon the ‘
little hostess was showered with gifts.!
There will be an ice cream social at ■
the Wallacevile church Saturday ev- ;
ening, June 28th for the benefit of the i
Sunday school and church. The public |
is cordially invited to attend.
There will be an all-day singing at
Bethel Baptist church in the Pond
Spring District, Sunday July 13th.
Prof. A. J. Showalter and other fine
singers will be present.

nue.
I Prof. Leon Wiley, who has been
attending Harvard University the
past year has arrived for a visit v.i’.k
friends at this place. Mrs. W. A \\ i
ley who is now at Nelson, Ga. will ar
rive later and she will spend the -uni- j
nier here. The entire community will
be glad to have these former residents
again with them. Mrs. Wiley will be
a member of the faculty of the Chick
amauga School for the year of,
1924-25.
The most attractive place for the
younger people of the town this hot
weather is the swimming pool which
has been opened. Each afternoon,,and
into tile evening this popular place is :
thronged w ith visitors who enjoy the
cooling waters.
Community House Activities—
The “Corn Cob Jubilee” which was
presented at the community house au
ditorium Friday evening under the
auspices of the Ling Bible Class of j
the St. Elmo Baptist church was en
joyed by a large and appreciative au- j
dience. A neat sum was realized which
will be used for the benefit of the
community house hand.
The Girl's Reserve Club hold a very j
interesting meeting at the communi- j
ty house Tuesday evening with Miss :

rings to the girls who faithfully ad
here to the honor system laid down
in the G. R. Manual. When the dull
here was organized two years ago,
each charter member began comply-;
ing with the honor system, but Kath
leen was the only one who kept the
complete record through the time. To'
win this ring is considered a high
honor and shows how many start* in '
the race and how few finish, a- it is
hard to keep Jhese complete records.!

Trion were thrown from their car at
the District Hill near this place Mon
day afternoon and were considerably
bruised. Their daughter, who is about
35 years old and is not any larger
than a two .year old child sustained
a broken leg in the accident which
was caused by the steering gear get
ting out of order. They were given
medical attention by Dr. Spearman
and proceeded on their journey.

The Music class of Miss Mary A.
Hill will be heard in a Recital Thurs
day evening July 3rd, at the high
school auditorium, the program which
is very attractive includes a number
of old time favorites as well as some
special features. This recital will
mark the close of the six weeks sum
mer term, which has been taught by
Miss Hill. Her pupils have done ex
ceedingly well which reflects much
credit upon the class and teacher. The
recital will begin promptly at 7:45
and no admission fee will be charged.
