day where they will attend the cen
tennial session of the Holston Con
ference. A very interesting pageant
will be given by the Rossville delega
tion at the conference. The old John
Ross House, where the first organiza
tion of the church was made will be
represented at the pageant and Doc
Johnson will represent the famous
chief, John Ross while Mrs. R. R. Mc-
Kehan will represent his wife and
Miss Maybelle Leake will represent
the chief's daughter.
The Parent Teacher’s Association
of the Cedar Hill school has been re
organized and held a very interesting!
meeting at the school building recent- j
ly. On Friday afternoon this organi
zation entertained at the home of Dr. *
and Mrs. B. 0. Hale on Cedar Hill, ';
complimenting the faculty of the I
school. The entire lower floor which !
was prettily decorated with pink and !
white flowers was thrown open to
the guests. The officers of the asso
ciation were in the receiving line and j
the honorees were very charmingly!
entertained. Misses Agnes Robertson
and Eliabeth Crow gave readings,
while a vocal and piano solo was giv
en by Mrs. Hale. During the after
noon an ice course with cake further
carrying out the color scheme of pink |
and white was served. About thirty ■
guests called during the afternor). I
The new addition to the Cedar Hill i
school is rapidly nearing completion | ]
and two new teachers will be added , I
to the school. !
The W. M. S. of the McFarland Me-| |
morial church held a very interesting;
meeting at the church parlors Wed-j

recommendations and has very inter

been spending the summer in North
Carolina and Virginia, enroute to her
home in Jackson, Miss., stopped over
here this week for a few days’ visit
with her cousin, Miss Mattie Funder

The Wallaceville school is progress-'
ing nicely under the management of
Miss Lillie Morgan and Mrs. Ella
Buchanan. Over one hundred pupils
have been enrolled and if the school
continues to increase another teacher
will be added.
Rally Day will be observed by the
local Presbyterian Sunday School Sun- i
day. A short program will be given J
by the school after which an address!
will be given by the Rev. Long, of i
Chattanooga. This Sunday school has 1
won the banner on Rally Day for the j
past two years and hope to do so
again this year.
