Judge Hawkins
Denies Chaage
The Bulletin,
Irwinton, Ga.
I understand it is being
charged that I a mattempting
to have Toombs county trans
ferred to the Dublin circuit in
order to advance my own polit
ical interest.
In justice to all parties inter
ested, I desire to deny this
this charge; aqd to absolutely
disprove it, I will state that, in
a spirit of fairness to all can
didates concerned, I suggested
and requested an amendment,
providing that the bill transfer
ring Toombs do not take effect
until after the August primary.
I am entirely willing to risk my
chances of succeeding myself
as Judge of the Dublin circuit,
-with the voters of Laurens,
Johnson, Wilkinson and Twiggs,
being thoroughly convinced, and
serenely confident that I _ will
receive a substantial majority
if the votes cast in each of these
counties.
However, I am ready to wel
-ome Toombs into the Dublin
Circuit whenever her people de
sire to come, notwithstanding
the fact that its coming wll add
nore work without compehsa
ion for the Judge.
Yours very truly,
K. J. HAWKINS.
