SHsHgnKHß^ufk together for the
' Vfhat kind of year wHI it be? Os
course we cannot say now, but let us
begin now to irake it the greatest
r year of spiritual blessing that we have
bad . This can be accomplished on 15'
through-cooperation in the work, and
by the deepening, of our prayer life
When this is done, all the other
details of the work will copie to the
front in fine shape,
W c want this to boa gnat Reviv
al year. But as you know, we can
not- bring tdiout a reyivat by organiz
ation. or wishing one would come.
A revival comes in answer to or
hk ganizing prayer. God will send us
the revival we need if we want it bad
enough to meet the conditions for it.
As a general thing, is just the thing
s we want to see, provided the other
fellow gets it. We don’t want to get
too personal with it.. “I wish Mr A.
could get a good ease of religion,”
you will hear one say, but, if we get
the kind of revival this country needs
Mr B. and Mr C, as well as Mr A.
and all the rest of us will-have to es
tablish some family altars and go to
praying for Mr A. ourselves, and all
the rest. If we could ha've more re
- ligion lived in the home, and not so
many substitutes, the "churches and
country at large would soon be in a
. more thriving condition spiritually.
We are ready to confess to the need
of a revival, then why postpone it, by
our continual failure to meet the con
ditions. G-t the old family Bible to
night alter supper, call the family in.
read a passage from the New Testa
ment. then all kneel and pray fer
vently for what you need in your i
own heart and life, and for what
your children need spiritually, and We

will soon have a new country to live
in, and Heavenly blessings will be
ours untold.
What made our fathers such good
neighbors, and citizens? It was their
close touch and relationship to God,
and to His Word. We could make
no better beginning for the New Year i
than to come back to some of the old
paths our fathers trod, and rebuild
the family altars that have been so :
long broken down.
It would set tle a gret^ yfany ofi
our personal differences, promote peace i
and harmony, and brotn?rly love
would continue. Brother, take time
to pray. We know we are Jiving in
a fast age, with increased -responsi

why we should be>a praying people.

STUMP PULLING
Is attracting very favorable
attention from open eyed and
progressive farmers who real
ize that woik on their farms
must be modernized if they
are to keep abreast of the
times. Tractors and the kind
of farm machinery that they
use are already thickly sprink
led over this part of the state,
and we might say that the
sprinkle is becoming a shower
this autumn. It is the sort of
a shower that is going to be
mighty helpful for next year’s
crops. Be among the first to
receive the rich benefits of the
better way of farming.
