The following order levying the tax
rate for county and school purposes
was adopted, all the commissioners
concuring:

Wilkinson County, Georgia, Sept.
regular term 1926,
Whereas, it appearing to the Board
of Commissioners of Roads and
revenues of the county of Wilkinson
that the expenses of operating said
" county, and the making of improv
ments therein requires a levy of
twenty dollars on the Thousand
Dollars of taxable prepertv of said
county for the year 1926; it is there
fore, Ordered: That Twenty Dollars
on the thousand dollars of- each one
thousand dollars worth of the taxable
property of said county as per digest
of 1926 be and the same is hereby
levied and the tax collector of said
county is hereby ordered to collect the
same for the following purposes,

: Item 1.
To pay the legal indebtedness of the
county due or to become due during
the year or past due the sum of five
~cents on the one hundred dollars.
Item 2.
To pay for building and repairing
the court house, jail, bridges, ferrries
and other public improvements the.
sum of $1.17 & 5.10 dollars on the
one hundred dollars.
; Item 3.
' To pay Sheriff's, Jailors and other
officers fees that may be legally
entitled to out of the county, six cents
on the one hundred dollars.
Item 4.
_To pay Coroners fees that may be
due them by the county for holding
inquest One eighth of one cent on the

for Bailiff’s at Court, non Resident
witnesses in criminal cases, fuel,
servants hire, stationery and the like
two cents on the One Hundred
Dollars.

To pay for the legal expenses of
supporting the poor of the county as
provided by law twelve and one half
cents on the One Hundred Dollars. -
Item 7.
To pay Jurrors a per diem compen
sation three cents on the One
Hundred Dollars.

To pay for working, repairing and
maintaining the public roads of said
county forty cents on the one hundred
dollars.

To pay any other lawful charge
against the county eight and seven
eighth’s cents on the One Hundred
dollars. ;
Item 10,
To pay the salary. of county police
and their expenses five cents on the
one hundred dollars.
Whereas, the Board of Education
haveng recommended to the Bosrd
that a levy of five mills on the dollar
of the taxable property of the county
for school purposes for the use of the
public schools of the county for the
year 1925; it is
Ordered that five mills on the
dollar of each dollar’s worth of the
taxable property of the county, for
and the same is hereby levied for the
year 1926 for school purposes for the
public schools of the county, and
Whereas, the Board of Trustees of
Gordon School District of said county
having recomended to the Board a
levy of five mill on the dollar of the
taxable property of said school dis
trict for maintainence of said school
and six mills for retiring bonds and

sale given by J. A. Branan to the un
dersigned on Dec. 19th 1918, I will
sell before the court house door in
, the town of Irwinton during legal
) hours of sale to the highest bidder

lying and being in the fifth land dis
trict of Wilkinson County, Georgia,
" containing two hundred twenty six
acres, more or less, bounded on the
" North by lands of J. B. Bloodworti,
on the KEast by lands of Henry Bran:n
and Henry Bloodworth, on tne South
by Waters of Cominissioner Creek,
and on the West by lands of W. L.
Weaver and Joon Ryles, and known
as the Mrs. M. C. Branan place.
Said sale being made subject to life
estate of Mrs. M C. Branan. and
subject to deeds heretofore made to
auny parts of same under tax execu
tions. Said property will be sold to
satisfy the following notes, with inter
est thereon, said notes being given by
JA. Branan and pavable to the
undersigned, all dated Dec, 19th, 1918:
$560 due Dee. Ist. 1919. with credit
of SIOO made Aug 27 1920,; $528
due Dec Ist 1920; $496" due Dec Ist
1921; $464 due Dec Ist 1922; $432
due Dec Ist 1923, together with cost
of this proceeding- Default having
been made in the payments of said
notes, and taxes having accrued on
the lands herein decribed.

dollar of the taxable propertv of
Toomsboro School district be and the

- Mt, Carmel School District having
recomended to the Board that a levy
of two mills on the dollar of each
dollars worth of the taxable property
~of Mt. Carmel School District, be
levied for the maintainence of said
school for the year 1925 and,
Ordered” that two mill on each
dollar of the taxable property of Mt.
Carmel Schoof District be and the
same is hereby levied for the purpose
-of maintaining of said school for the

Whereas, The Board of Trustees of
Irwinton School District having

~ purpose of retiring bonds and paying
. interest thereon for the year 1926,

‘ WHEREAS, the General Assembly
at its extraordinary session in 1926
proposed an amendment to the Con
stitution of this State as set forth
in an Act approved April 3, 1926,
RECORDS OF VITAL STATISTICS.
No. 17, Second Session,
- An Act to amend paragraph two of
section six of article seven of thei
Constitution of the State of Geor
gia, and for other purposes.
Section 1. The General Assembly
of the State of Georgia hereby pro
poses to the people of Georgia the fcl
lowing amendment to the Constifution
of the State of Georgia, to-wit: That
paragraph two of section six of arti
cle seven be amended b;‘ adding at
the end of said section, after the
clause, “and to provide for necessary
sanitation,” the following words, to
wit: “and for the collection and pres
ervation of records of birth, death,
disease and health.” C
Sec. 2. Be it further enactel by
the authority aforesaid, That if the
above proposed amendment to the
Constitution shall be agreed to by
two-thirds of the members elected to
aach of the two Houses of the General
Assembly the same shall be entered
on their Journals, with the yeas and
nays taken thereon, and the Gover
nor shall cause the said amendment
to be published in one or more news
papers in each congressional district
of the State for two months beifore
the next general election; and ths
Governor is hereby authorized and di
rected to provide for the submission
of said amendment to the people at
said election. The persons voting at
said election in favor of said amend
ment shall have on their ballots the
words: “For ratification of amz2nd
ment to Article 7, Section 6, Para
graph 2, of the Constitution, providing
for the collection and preservation of
records of birth, death, disease and
health.” The persong opposed to this
amendment shall have on their ballots

| electors qualified to vote for mem
bers of the General Assembly, voting
thereon, shall vote for ratification of
said amendment, the Governor, when
he ascertains the same from the Sec
retary of State, to whom the returns
from said election shall-be referred in
the same manner as in cases of elec
tions of members of the Generul As
sembly, to count and ascertain the
result, shall issue his proclamation
for one insertion in one daily news
paper of the State, announcing thé re
sult and declaring the ratification of
said amendment.
Sec. 3. Be it further enacted by
| the authority aforesaid, that all laws
! and parts of laws in conflict with this
I Act be and the same are hereby re
pealed.
