Ml I. W. STEVENS DIES
Mr I. W Stevens of Mclntyre died
Mopday and was buried Tuesday af
*ternoon at Mclntyre cemetery, Rev.
J. L Lawrence preached the funeral
sermon and the burial ceremony was
performed by the Masons.

chant. had been in declining health
for s /er J years and his death was
not unexpected. He had scores of
friends throughout the county and
there was a Urge crowd in attendance
at the funeral He is survived by
hie father, Mr J T. Stevens, one
brother-and one sister.

Baptist Association
The Baptist Association held '
at the Toomsboro church Wed
nesday and Thursday of this
week was attended bv an
unusually large crowd both days.
The beautiful new church build- ,
ing Was crowded at each aervice
during the two days.
Prominent preachers were 1
heard in most interesting
sermons which were enjoyed by
the members of all churches.
There were delegates from
churches in Twiggs, Baldwin
and Wilkinson.
T.;e barbecue and basket
dinners prepared bountiful and
attentively served to the great
crowd and may expressions of
praise were heard for the con
venience of the arrangements
and the excellent food and the
engaging friendliness of all the
people of the town.
Bethel church, near Irwinton,
will entertain the Association
next time.
Dr. J. D. Parker and Dr. King of
Atlanta, were visitors in town Friday.
Quarterly meeting at the Irwinton
church Friday was well attended and
splendid sermon enjoyed by the con
gregation. An excellent dinner was
served from tables in the church yard.
