September Regular Term 1926.
In - Re: Tax Levy for county and
schools:
Tie following order levying the tax
rate for county and school purposes
was adopted, all the commissioners
concuring:

Whereas, it appearing to the Board
of Commissioners of Roads and
revent.es of the county of »Vilkinson
that the expenses of operating said
county, and the making of improv
ments the in requires a levy of
twen.y dollars on the Thousand
Dollars of taxable prepertv of said
county for the year 19 6; it is there
fore, Ordered: That Twenty Dollars
on the thousand dollars of each one
thousand dollars worth of the taxable
properly of said county as per digest
of 1926 be and the same is hereby
levied and the tax collector ot said
county is hereby ordered to collect the
same for the following purposes,
to -- wit.
Item 1.
To pay the legal indebtedness ot the
c mnt v due or io become due during
the y-ar or pist due the sum of five
cents ou the oue hundred dollars.
Item 2,
To pay for building and repairing
the Ct urt house, jail, bridges, ferrries
and other pu .lie improvements the
sum i f §1.17 & 5 10 dollars on the
one hundred dollars.
Item 3.
To par Sheriff’s, Jailors and other
officers fees that may be legally
entitled to out of the county, six cents
on the one hundred dollars.
Item 4.
To pav Coroners fees that may be
due them by the county for holding
inquest One eighth of oue cent on the

witnesses in criminal cases, fuel,
servants hire, stationery and the like
two cents on the One Hundred
Dollars.

To pay for the legal expenses of
supporting the poor of the county as
provided by law twelve and one hall
cents on the One Hundred Dollars.
Item 7.
To pay Jurrors a per diem compen
sation three cents on the One
Hundred Dollars.
Item 8.
To pay for working, repairing and
maintaining the public roads of said
county forty cents on the one hundred
dollars.

To pay any other lawful charge
against the county eight and seven
eighth’s cents on the One Hundred
dollars.
Item 10.
To pay the salary of county police
and their expenses five cents on the
one hundred dollars
Whereas, the Board of Education
haveng recommended to the Board
that a levy of five mills on the dollar
of the taxable property of the county
for school purposes for the use of the
public schools of the county for the
year 1925; it is
Ordered that five mills on the
dollar of each dollar’s wort h of the
taxable property of the county, for
and the same is hereby levied for the
year 1926 for school purposes for the
public schools of the county, and
Whereas, the Board of Trustees of
Gordon School District of said county
having recomended to the Board a
levy of five mill on the dollar of the
taxable property of said school dis
trict for maintainence of said school
and six mills for retiring bonds and
paying interest thereon, it is, there
fore,
Ordered that, five mills on the
dollar of each dollars worth of the
taxable property of said Gordon
School District be levied for main
tainence of said school and six mills
on the dollar for retiring bonds and
paying interest thereon for the year
1925, and,
Whereas, The Trustees of Tooms
boro School District having recomeml
ed to the board, that a levy of five
mills on each dollar of the taxable
property of Toomsboro School District
be made for retiring bonds and paying
interest on same and five mills on
the dollar for maintainence and
support of said school, it is therefore,
Ordered, That five mills on each
dollar of the taxable propertv of
Toomsboro School district be and the
same is hereby levied for the purpose
ot retiring bonds and paying intere. t
thereon for the said district and fii e
mills be and the same is hereby lev
ied for maintainence of said school f r
the year 1926 and,
Whereas, the board of Trustees of
Mt. Carmel School District having
recomended to the Board that a levy
of twp mills on the dollar of eaci
dollars worth of the taxable property
of Mt. Carmel School District, be
levied for the maintainence of said
school for the year 1925 and,
Ordered that two mill on eaoK
dollar of the taxable property of Mt-
Carmel School District be and the
same is hereby levied for the purpose
of maintaining of said school lor the
year of 1926.
Whereas, The Board of Trustees <f
Irwinton School District having
recomended to the Board that a levy
of seven mills be levied for the
purpose of retiring bonds and paying
. interest thereon for the year 1926,

I the same is hereby levied on the

sale given by J. A. Branan to the un
dersigned on Dec. 19th 1918. I vill
sell before the court house door in
the town of l.’wintm during legal
hours of sale to the highest bidder
for cash on the First Tuesday in
November next, all that tract of land
lying and being in the fifth laud dis
trict of Wilkinson (Jouuty, Georgia,
containing two hundred twenty six
acres, more or less, bounded on the
North by lands of J. B. Bloodworth,
on the East by lands of Heniy Branan
and Henry Bloodworth, on tne South
by Waters of Commissioner Creek,
and on the Vt est by lands of W. T-
Weaver and John Ryles, and known
as the Mrs M. C. Branan place.

subject to deeds heretofore made to
any parts of same under tax execu

be held on Tuesday, November 2,
1926, said ameHthnent to authorize the ,
collection and preservation of rec
ords of Vital Statistics.

WHEREAS, the General Assembly !
at its extraordinary session in. 1926
proposed an amendment to the Con- ;
stitution of this State as set forth
in an Act approved April 3, 1926.
RECORDS OF VITAL STATISTICS.
No. 17, Second Session.
An Act to amend paragraph two of
section six of article seven of the
Constitution of the State of Geor
gia, and for other purposes
Section 1. The General Assembly
of the State of Georgia hereby pro- '
poses to the people of Georgia the fcL I
lowing amendment to the Constitution
of the State of Georgia, to-wit: That
paragraph two of section six of arti
cle seven be amended by adding at
the end of said section, after the
clause, “and to provide for necessary
sanitation,” the following words, to
wit: “and for the collection and pres
ervation of records of birth, death,
disease and health.”
Sec 2. Be it further enacted by
the authority aforesaid. That if the
above proposed amendment to the
Constitution shall be agreed to by
two-thirds of the members elected to
each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly the same shall be entered
on their Journals, with the yeas and
nays taken thereon, and the Gover
nor shall cause the said amendment
to be published in one or more news
papers in each congressional district
of the State for two months before
the next general election; and the
Governor is hereby authorized and di
rected to provide for the submission
of said amendment to the people at
said election. The persons voting at
said election in favor of said amend
ment shall have on their ballots the
words: "For ratification of amend
ment to Article 7, Section 6, Para
graph 2, of the Constitution, providing
for the collection and preservation of
records of birth, death, disease and
health ” /The persons opposed to this
amendment shall have on their ballots
