This is to notify all members and
those interested that there will be a
meeting at the Court House July Ist,
1941, of the Wilkinson County Unit,
State Defense Corps. This is our
regular meeting night and I would
appreciate a good attendance- Come
one and all.

S. S. Convention
On account of Revivals and other
matters, the annual Sunday School
Convention of the Ebenezer Associa
tion scheduled to meet with the Mt-
Zion church next Sunday, June 29,
is postponed. The date and pro
gram will be announced later,
.Meet at Ramah Cemetery
On Wednesday, July 2, all those
interested in Ramah cemetery are
asked to meet there, bringing dinner,
to spend the day and make plans for
caretakers for the grounds.

equipment in force.
On July 18th, we will have an en
rollment for an unlimited number of
Junior white boys. The age limit is
17 through 23H for unmarried boys
out of employment and in need of
work and physically fit. The pay is
S3O per month, of which he may
spend $8 save $7 and send >ls home;
if his family does not need it he may
deposit $22 with the Government un
til his enrollment is completed.

last week. The camp began June 18
and ended 21st. Speakers included

singular the creditors and next of kin
of Miss Bessie K. Nash to be and ap
pear at my office within the time al
lowed by law, and show cause, if any
they can, why permanent administra
tion should not be granted to Mrs
Ollie N. Dominy on Miss Bessie R.
Nash estate.

This is to notify all persons con
cerned that H E. McDowell as Ad
ministrator of the Estate of T. H.
McDowell, deceased, has filed with
me an application for leave to sell the
following lands belonging to said es
tate, for the purpose of payment of
debts and distribution; and that I
will pass upon said application in my
office in Irwinton, Georgia, at the
July Term, 1941, of my Court.
Description of property to be sold:
All that tract or parcel of land ly
ing, being, and situate in the sth
Land District of Wil k inson county,
Georgia, containing Three hundred
three and three-fourths (303 34)
acres, more or less, and being bound
as follows: North by the lands of D.
T. Turner’ East by the lands of A. A.
Cobb and the lands of J. W. Brooks.
St; South by the lands of J. W.
Brooks, Sr.; and the lands of J J.
Tremon; west by the lands of the
Purdom place and lands known as
Old Nichols place, now owned by Ot
ter: said described lands being known
as the Old Hichman place and being
the same lande on which the said late
T. H. McDowell resided at the time
of his death.

Notice of Bond Election
A resolution calling an election for
Bonds for the purpoee of paving and
improving the Streets of the City of
Gordon, Georgia.
Whereas, the City of Gordon is in
need of a system of paved and im
proved streets, and
Whereas the Federal Government
of the United States is offering to arid
in same, and
Whereas, to do so will necessitate
the issuance of bonds in the sum of
Five Thousand Dollars: —
Be It Resolved, that we, the
Mayor and Councilmen of the City of
Gordon, submit to the legal qualified
voters of said municipality, the ques
tion for them to determine whether
or not bonds shall be issued for said
purpose by the Mayor and Council in
the Sum of Five Thousand Dollars,
principal, to bear date of July 1,
1941, and to be of the following de
nominations:— Five One 1 housand
Dollar Bonds, to bear interest from
their date at the rate of four per cent
per annum, payable semi-annually on
the first day of January and the First
day of July of each year: One Thous
and Dollars of the principal to be
paid on the first day of January 1944:
One Thousand Dollars on the first
day of January, 1945, and Three
Thousand Dollars on the first day of
January, 1946, when on said last
named date all of said bonds shall be
fully paid.
Both principal and interest of said
bonds to be paid in lawful currency of
the United States of America, and
payable at the First National Bank
and Trust Company in Macon, Geor
gia.
Further, that said election shall be
held at the usual place of holding
elections in said City of Gordon, to
wit: at the City Hall, on 23rd day of
July, 1941. Those desiring to vote
in favor of the issuance of said bonds
shall cast their ballots having written
or printed on them “For Bonds' ,
Those opposed to the issuance of said
bonds shall cast ballots having writ
ten or printed on them “Against
Bonds”
Registration Books will be open
until ten days before the election.
