summonses this week for usein
’current forest fire prevention
campaign undertaken by the Ga
| Department of Korestry.
It's a brand new kind of sum
mons, however It requires the
recipient to appear before the
Court of Posterity to answer to
the charge of endangering the
mighty timber resources.
Actually merely a warning
ticket, the summons will be serv
ed State Patrolman on motorist
observed throwing lighted cigars
and cigarettes from their cars
and by State lorestry officials
upon those observed being care
less with the use of firein or
| near woodlands.
% The ticket is signed jointly by
State Forestry Director J M.
| Linker and Major W. E. Spence,
|director of the State Dept of
lSafety.
It is unique in this state and is
'part of the general drive by the
Dept. of Forestry to point the
need for a state-wide forest fire
