WILKINSON COUNTY
In April, 1943, Edgar Brothers Company donated to the
Wilkinson County High School the house and lot in Irwin
ton situated on Mclntyre St. opposite the High School
Building and known as ” Edgar Annex ”. There were cer
tain restrictions in the deeb as to purpose for which the
building was to be used. Recently the Trustees of the Wil
kinson County High School requested Edgar Brothers Co
mpany to issue a quit claim deed removing any and all re
strictions that might hinder the sale of the house & lot,
if such a sale should be decided upon by the trustees. In
response to the request the following letter from Mr. Jam
es Deshler, President of Edgar Brothers Company, has
been received by the Trustees. The contents of this letter
will be of interest to every one concerned with the welfare
of the Wilkinson County High School.

EDGAR BROTHERS COMPANY
To the Board of Trustees of Wilkinson County High School
Att: Mr. W. M. Puckett. Chairman
Gentlemen:
This will acknowledge receipt of your letter dated July 8, 1950 re
questing that Edgar Brothers Company deliver a deed to you cov
ering house and lot located in Irwinton on Mclntyre Street opposite
the High School Building.
At the regular quarterly meeting of our Board of Directors yester
day, I recommended that your request be granted and the Direct
ors adopted a resolution authorizing the Officers to execute and
deliver such deed to you-
We are intensely interested in contributing everything within our
resources to promote the welfare of the people of the County and
are mindful of the large responsibility which rests upon us in this
respect,
We are especially anxious to assist in the developement of Wilkin
son County High School in order that you may be able to offer to
the children of our employees and their neighbors the best possible
educational facilities and program.
We regret that years of depression, war, and fire have prevented
us irom doing even more in our community during recent years
than we have been able to do, and we hope that you and al) other
citizens of Wilkison County understand and appreciate this situat
ion and are aware of our genuine interest in those who live and
work in the Mclntyre — Irwinton area.
If you will have your attorney prepare whatever papers you
desire and he deems necessary in this respect, and will forward
them to me, I shall arrange to have them executed and delivered
to you very promptly.
With every good wish, I remain, on behalf of all of us who are
associated with Edgar Brothers Company
Cordially
