DA.R. RESOLUTION '
Whereas, God in his infinite
love and wisdom called unto him
self on the 3rd day of September
1950, our beloved fellow mem
ber, Minnie Sanders Hooks (Mrs.
John W. Hooks), who was organ
izing regent of John Ball Chap
ter, D. A. R., and
Whereas, in the passing of
Mrs. Hooks our chapter has lost
one of its most patriotic and loy
al members, her family has lost
a devoted sister and aunt, her
church a faithful servant, and
her frineds a true and generous
associate, therefore,
Be it resolved, that we bow in
submission to the will of God and
acknowledge that “His ways are
above our ways” and
Be it resolved further that we
pledge ourselves to uphold those
high ideals of loyalty, patriotism
and Christianity which she exem
plified, thus honoring her and
ourselves, and.
Be it resolved further that we
extend our deepest sympathy to
her loved ones, and that a copy
of these resolutions be published
in our county papers, a copy be
presented to her family, and that
they be spread upon our minutes
that her memory may remain
with us as an inspiration.

“If we desire to secure peace, it
must be known that we are at all times
prepared for war'’ - Washington.
The United Stales bought Alaska
from Russia. It. cost us about two cts
per acre. At the time some people
said we paid too much for it.
For seventeen years after the pur
chase of Alaska the United States
did not even bother to set up any
kind of government.
We hope to see You all on the
Midway after the Press Luncheon
