41 U. S. MARINE AIR RESERVE SQUADRONS, based at 25 U. S. Naval Air Stations throughout |
the nation, are poised to make the two largest coast-to-coast mass air movements ever planned for
American reserve air fighter units in peacetime. 21 Western squadrons will leave home stations
(black arrows) simultaneously, July Bth, 1950, for maneuvers lasting to July 22nd at Cherry Point,
N. C. 20 squadrons at bases east of the Mississippi (white arrows) will leave simultaneously Au- ;
gust sth, 1950, for maneuvers lasting to August 19th at El Toro (Santa Ana), California. Fast
moving Marine mobile radar equipment will be set up in radar networks in the field to direct in

Frank Dixon, who spent his
boyhood in Irwinton, returned
this week to be “presented at
Court” as a full-fledged lawyer.
A large number of friends were
present to offer congratulations.
We hear that Frank and Eliza
beth hope to make Irwinton their
home again, some day, - waich
goes to prove they are, to our
way of thinking, good choosers.
The 1950 Verdict, published by
the Senoir Class, Woodrow Mil
son College of Law, Atlanta, has
this to say: Frank Dixon is a
Collectox* of Internal Revenue
with the United States Treasury
Department He is a member of
the Walker-Kilbride Literary So
ciety, Secretary of the Senoir
Class, A member of the student
Council. Chaplain of Aloha Tau
Chapter of Sigma Delta Kappa,
and a former student of Mercer
University, having graduated
from Ga -Ala Business College.
Friends of the Dixons who
were here for the occasion were

The annual 4-H Club County
Fair will be held this year Oct.
9 to 14 inclusive, with Murray
& Wallace shows booked for the
Midway.
The exhibits should be good if
not better than usual this year.
It is hoped that every farmer
will take an active part in this
show so that the people of this
county can say with pride that
we had a county famin 1950.
Each school is to put on an edu
cational exhibit and cash awards
will go to those judged, best.
