On the Preacher
It happened that two men by
the same name, one a preacher
the other a grocer, lived in the
same town The preacher died,
about the same time the grocer
left on atrip to southern Califor
nia.
When the grocer arrived there
he sent his wife a telegram info
rming her of his safe journey;
but unfortunatly it was delivered
to the widow of the late preacher
What must have been the dist
ress of the good woman to read:
“ Arrived safely — but heat
terrific ! ”
