GIVE VOLUNTARILY TO THE MARCH OF DIMES JAN. 2 - 31
Street of Irwinton
By Mary Tigner Hoy
Whatever happened in Times
Square, 1952 slipped very quietly
into Irwinton. We heard one lit
tle spatter of firecrackers, and
looking out the window, saw on
ly a spangle of stars. Just before
dawn we dreamed of reaching a
mountain-top which had been our
goal for long years. We are very
grateful for that dream.
Wish for all our friends that
your best dreams come true in
1952.
Wednesday morning a certain
Irishman came home from town
singing “Peg o’ My Heart” and
we asked if Mario Lanza was up
street, and he said no but Miss
Peggy Beck is the new Postoffice
assistant.
The Bulletin office force spent
last Saturday in Atlanta. Didn’t
see anyone we knew except Miss
Adelyn Butler, and she high-hat
ted us.
We know now why people al
ways say they are going to “sit
down” and order something from
the catalogs: They have their
minds on how nice it is to shop
without wearing their feet off.
