announced his intention to

my candidacy for this im
portant office.
I was born in Hancock
County and have resided
there all my life. I have
represented my county in the
House of Representatives of
Georgia for sixteen years,
and have represented the 20-
th Senatorial District in the
Senate of Georgia for four
years.
I am a graduate of Mercer
University and have been en
gaged in the active practice
of the legal profession for
more than 30 years. If I am
selected as your Soliciter
General, I pledge myself to
the faithful and impartial
performance of the duties of
this office,

Support prices have been an
nounced for the following 195a—
Crops: tobacco, peanuts and cot
tonseed.
Tobacco: The 1952 minimum
price support level tor flue-cured
tobacco is 50 6 cts per pound and
for barley tobacco the rate is 40-
5 cts per pound.
Peanuts: Support price on pea.,
nuts is available through farm
storage loans or warehouse stor
age loans at not less than $239 40
per ton. This average minimum
support price, which is 90% of
the Feb. 15 1952, parity price of
$266.00 per ton, will be increased
proportionally if the parity price
on August 1 is higher.
Cottonseed: Price support loans
on the 1952 crop cottonseed will
be available at $66.40 per ton for
basis grade (100), and in areas
where a purchase program may
be necessary, purchases will be
made at $62.40 a ton basis grade
cottonseed. The Cottonseed Price
Support Program will be imple
mented by means of loans, pur_
chase agreements and purchase
of cottonseed and cottonseed pro
dots. The loan rate on 1951 crop
cottonseed was $65 50 per ton for
basis grade, and the purchase
price was s6l. 50.
Statesboro, Ga. — Miss Maxine
Corbitt of Irwinton reported to
the campus Laboratory High
School Monday for her senior in
ternship in the practice teaching
program of Georgia. She is as
signed to the school for the
Spring Quarter and will teach

County Commissioner of Bethel and
Ramah Districts and appeal to you for
your support in the forthcoming Dem
ocratic Primary of May 14, 1952.
I was born and reared in Gordon;
attended Gordon High School; joined
Clear Creek Baptist Church at the age
of 16, Enlisted in the U. S. Navy in
Sept. 1922. Saw continuous service
until May 1946. Was iu Pacific The
atie during World War 11. At the out
break of hostilities, Dec. 7, 1941, I
was in Manila. Saw service in Dutch
East Indies, Australia, New Guinea,
Solomon Islands and was back in Su
bic Bay, Philippines, during Japanese
Surrender period. Uas placed on in
active duty May 1946.
I worked from J uue 1946 to May
1950 in supervisory capacity as ma_
chinist at U.S. Navy shipyards, Long
Beach, Calif. I returned to Georgia in
August, 1950, to establish my perma
nent residence in Gordon. Am now
serving my community as vice com_
mander of American Legion Post 101
and as councilman of Gordon.
Incidently, my wife, formerly Eilj
leeu O’Sullivan Stickman, was a civ
ilian internee on the Island of Luzon
during the Japanese Occupation from
December 1941 to February 1945,

kinson County to the very best of my
ability,
