PM A FARM NEWS
L—-
WILKINSON COUNTY
For the first time in history, cotton
loans made on the 1952 crop cotton
will be left right at home, in the same
county where the loan was made, or
where the cotton is produced- Notes
will not be transferred to the commod
ity office or the Federal Reserve Bank
prior to maturity. This will permit the
farmer to get the loan papers quicklv
should he desire to repay the note and
take advantage of any rise in price.
This brings the cott n price support
operations closer to the farmer.
In the past, equity transfer agree
ments were supplied to all producers
soon after the loans were made. Under
the 1952 program *an equity transfer
agreement will be made available to a
producer after he has agreed to sell
his equity in one or more bales cover
ed by a particular note. These agree
ments will be obtained at the local
PMA office where it will be dated and
will be valid for loan redemption pur
poses for seven days.
