TTEAITTI NOTES
Dear Editor:
Please forgive us for not hav
ing our article this week. We
really planned to write it today,
but office business just kept us
from it.
Early this morning the first
stream of children that lasted all
day began coming in to receive
the last of their immunizations
which were started before school
was out. There were several mo
thers who brought their young
sters in to start their immuniza
tions.
During the middle of the morn
ing several mothers visited the
department to ask for intestinal
parasite containers to send spec
imens to the State Health Depart
ment Laboratory in Macon to see
if their children had hookworm.
One mother came in for treat
ment for hookworm for herself.
This mother, with her husband,
also came to ask us to help them
raise S4O 00 to have their child’s
tonsils removed before school be
gins. This child begins school
this fall and has never talked due
the doctor says, to enlarged and
infected tonsils and enlarged ad
enoids. Weare trying to find the
forty dollars. Later on in the day
the phone rang. “My child stuck
a nail in his foot.’’ came the voice
of a worried mother. ‘‘May I
bring him to the Health Depart
ment?’’ “Has the child been im
munized with the triple vaccine?’
