Named for a Georgia govembr of the early 19th century,
Mitchell County is rich in farmlands and forests. Chief
products are cotton, peanuts, and staple food crops,
peaches and melons, turpentine and lumber. The county |
seat of Camilla and the thriving town of Pelham vie for
leadership in the county’s industrial life—each town hav
ing several cotton gins, a cottonseed oil plant, lumber
| mills, a fertilizer factory, and a wood-processing plant.
In this and other Georgia counties, the United States
Brewers Foundation works constantly to maintain whole
some conditions where beer and ale are sold. Close atten
tion is given areas near camps of the Armed Forces, and
. both military officials and Georgia law enforcement officers
have commended the Foundation’s self-regulation pro
gram. Retailer educational meetings offer sound sugges
tions for continued operation in the community’s interest.

; Like most wives, Mrs. CORNEL WILDE %, ™™& L 0
likes to serve her husband’s favorite og&:”; g g
dishes. Chicken Pilaf plays a star role N\ ~su&fi A
in Mrs. Wilde’s menus—it’s delicious, A/ S, \/” '
easy‘to do, and doesn’t call for too much
time in the kitchen. With an eye on the P :
budget—chicken teams with rice, clev- /{ 2
erly seasoned, to make a substantial i
main dish. Follow with tossed green TN
salad—maybe fruit for dessert and a L
good cup of coffee—and you’ve got a é«;;j‘;/'é',/"_:‘ 1
complete meal. ‘7"”
CHICKEN PILAF
1% cup Blue Bonnet Margarine 2 teaspoons salt
3% cup finely chopped onion 14 teaspoon cayenne pepper .
2 cups rice : 1 bay leaf

| bake in moderate oven (350° F.) about 25 minutes until rice is
tender =nd liquid absorbed. It may be necessary to add more
séock Before rice is cooked. Remove bay leaf. Add diced cooked
