PETITION TO INCORPORATE
GEORGlA—Wilkinson County:
To the Saperior Court of said Countv:
The petition of H. C Blankenahip,
Horace Youmans, Dr. Stanley M. Du-
Pree, and G. M. Jones, all of whom
are residents of Wilkinson County.
Georgia, respeci fully shows:
1. That petitioners have been direct
ed by the First Baptist Church. Gor
don, Wilkinson County Georgia, an
unincorporated religious society, to
act for said unincorporated society in
forming a corporation to be known as
the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, INC ,
Gordon, Georgia, without capital
stock and for purposes other than pe
cuniary gain or profit.
2. That the said corporation shall
be organized and operated exclusively
for religious purposes, and no part of
the net earnings of the said corpora
tion shall inure to the benefit of any
individual but its activities shall oe
solely those of a religious nature
3 The corporation shall be govern
ed by a Board of Trustees, not less
than three (3) nor more than fifteen
(15) in number elected by the mem
bers of the corporation, and the corp
oration shall execute any notes, con
tracts. bonds, deeds or other instru
ments by a n d through it’s president
of the Board of Trustees, attested by
the secretary thereof to which there
shall be affixed a corporate seal.
4. That the life of the corporation
shall be perpetual or for such maxi
mum lesser period as mav be required
or permitted under the laws of the
State of Grorgia.
5 All members of the First Baptist
Church, Gordon. Georgia presently ex
isting as an unincorporated religious
society in the County of Wilkinson,
Geprgia, shall, upon the granting of
this charter, become members of the
corporation, and the corporation shaK
succeed to all of the property rights
whatsoever nature heretofore existing
in and accruing to the unincorporated
religious society known as the First
Baptist Church, Gordon, Grorgia.
6. That the principal place of busi
ness of the corporation shall be in
Gordon, Wilkinson County, Georgia.
7. The names and post office ad
dress of the trustees and petitioners
are as follows:
H. C. Blankenship, Gordon, Georgia.
Horace Youmans, Gordon, Georgia.
Dr. Stanley M. DuPree, Gordon. Geor
gia.
G. M. Jones. Gordon. Georgia.
WHEREFORE, petitioners pray
that the First Baptist Church. Gordon
Georgia, an unincorporated religious
society, be, in all things, incorporat
ed under the laws of the State of
Georgia under the name and for the
purposes aforesaid set forth with all
of ths rights, powers and privileges
given by law, and all rights, powers
and privileges herein specifically set
forth as well as those provided by
law for corporations of like nature.

ORDER
The above and foregoing petition
read and considered, and it appearing
to the Court that the same is within
the legitimate purview and intention
of the laws of the State of Georgia,
and there having been presented, to
gether with the petition, a certificate
from the Secretary of Slate declaring
that the name of the proposed corpo
ration is not the name of any other
existing corporation registered in the
records of the Secretary of State;
IT IS ORDERED. Adjudged and
Decreed, that petitioners, their suc
cessors, associates and assigns be and
they are hereby incorporated under
the name and style of First Baptist
Church, Inc., Gordon. Georgia, for a
term of thirty-five (35) years, wilh
all the powers prayed for in said peti
tion, and such other powers as are now
permitted or may be granted to corp
orations of similar nature under the
laws of this State.

The club's plan to hold a meet
ing at Ivey Church Feb. 7 at 6:30
p m. Beautification of the school
grounds was adopted as a project
for both clubs. Delegates to the
Youth Assembly tb be held in At
lanta Jan. 28 through 30 are Kay
Hatcher, Lynn Carpenter and
Barbara Ann Stapleton. Carol

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals from General Con
tractors will be received by the Wilk
inson County Board of Education,
Owner, at the Wilkinson County
Court House, Irwinton. Georgia, un
til 2:30 p. m. Eastern Standard Time,
Friday, February 5. 1954 for the con
struction of a High School for Wilkin
son County. Irwinton, Georgia, at the
corner of the Macon, Mclntyre roads
near Irwinton, Georgia. At the time
and place noted above, the proposals
will be publicly opened and read. No
extension of the bidding period will
be made.
Bidding documents may be obtain
ed at the office of the Architect, Webb
& Company, 763 Pine Street, Macon,
Georgia. Applications for documents
together with deposit of SSO 00 per
set should be filed promptly with the
Architect • Bidding material will be
forwarded, shipping charges collect, as
soon as possible. The full amount of
the deposit for one set will be refund
ed to each General Contractor who
submits a bona fide bid upon return
of such a set in good condition within
30 days after date of opening of bids.
All other deposits will be refunded
with deductions approximating l co»t of
reproduction of documents upon re
turn of same in good condition within
30 days alter date of opening of bids.
Contract, if awarded, will be on a
lump sum basis. No bid may be with
drawn for a period of 35 days after
date of opening. Bids must be accom
panied by a bid bond in an amount
not less than 5% of the base bid Per
formance and Payment Bond will he
required in an amount equal to 100%
of the contract price
The Owner reserves the right to re
ject any or all bids and to waive tech
nicalities and informalities.
