Several weeks ago the Georgia Power Company announced plans for
the development of vacation and recreation areas around the shoreline of ‘
Sinclair lake. As a part of these plans the Company has set aside several
areas where individual cottages may be constructed. Applications are
now being accepted for lots in the first of these recreation areas to be
opened—area number 9 in Baldwin county.
WHERE TO APPLY: You may apply for lots at the Georgia Power J
Company’s field office near Sinclair Dam. The office is located just 4*4
. miles east of U.S. Highway 441 at the point marked by a star on the '
•J map above.
HOW TO APPLY: In order that you may be fully informed about the
location and nature of any lot you select, applications must be submitted
in person at the field office on a form provided for that purpose. These
forms are available at the field office or at any Georgia Power store. A
specific lot may be selected only at the field office, after you have seen a
detailed map of area number 9— or preferably, after you have inspected
the lots themselves.
WHO MAY APPLY: Anyone may make application for lots, but area
number 9 is located on the southeastern side of the lake and is most
accessible to persons living in the Milledgeville area or south and east
of Milledgeville. Areas number 2 and 3, which the Company proposes
to open within the next few months, will be more convenient to persons
living northeast, north or west of the lake.
RENTAL CHARGES:' Rental rates on lots will vary .from $45 to S2OO per
year, depending on the desirability of individual lots. At the time the
lease is granted there will be a closing charge of $25 on each lot to cover ,
the cost of plotting and staking out the lot lines.
I
LEASE RESTRICTIONS: For the benefit of residents of the area, leases
on lots in area number 9 will include the following provisions:
Waste disposal facilities must conform to state health laws.
Homes erected on each waterfront lot will be restricted to a cost of
not less than $7,500.
No more than two lots will be leased to one individual. No structure
can be built on an area consisting of more than two lots.
WHEN LEASES WILL BE GRANTED: Leases will be granted as soon as
the Company has had a chance to review the applications and assign lots.
It is expected that the first leases will be granted about April 1. In case
there are two or more acceptable applications for the same lot, the lot
will be leased to the person applying first.
