Mrs. John H. Youmans and
son of Columbus spent several
days last week with parents, vir.
Mrs. Murray Turner and other
relatives.
Mr. Mrs. Eugene Zwenig and
daughters, Frances and Janet,
spent the weekend with parents,
Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Moore and
family. The Zwenigs ar^ moving
from Gainesville, Fla. to Chatta
nooga, Penn. where Mr Zwe nig
has accepted a position with the
TVA.
Rep and Mrs. R. A Harrel and
Paul of Cairo have returned to
their home after visiting Mr. Mrs
Cosby Brooks.
Those attending the 6th Dis
trict Spring conference of the
PTA at Cadwell last week were

Strange, Pat Drake, J W. Brooks
Joe Beck, Lee Kinchen and H. E
Broyles.
Rey. and Mrs. D T. McAbee of
M arthen spent a short while in
town Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Redwine
have moved into their new brick
home, just completed; also Mr.
and Mrs. Frank ' assengale have

Miss Martha Jeanne Jackson
is spending Spring holidays with
parents. She will return to Bessie
Tift College to resume her stud
ies after finisning her period of
practise teaching at the Thurs
ton School. Thomaston, Ga.
MARGIE DENNIS
Margis Dennis, 5. daughter of
Mrs Thena Mae Hampton, died
yesterday enroute to a Dublin
hospital from burns received
when her clothing caught fire in
her home near Danville. Her mo
ther had just left the ho^se to go
to work. The neighbors tried to
smother the flames with blank
ets.
SUNDAY SCHDOL NEWS
Officials of the Methodist Sunday
Scho< 1 dined together at Little Jack'g
Case Monday night and made plans
for the improvement of (he Sunday
School. Plans were discussed for mem
bers of all age groups from Cradle
Roll to Shut-ins, with particular in
terest in a new class for young adults,
with Rev. Ernest Phillips and Mr. J.
R Wilcox as teachers. Two teachers
for each class have been appointed.
Recreation and socials also were
proposed, the first social to be held
probably within the next two weeks.
We are very much encouraged over
the awakened interest and hope every
one in town will attend either the
Methodist or Baptist Sunday School.

Our good neighbor, Ralph Cul
pepper Sr., sustained two broken
nos in a fall last Thursday and
was confined to bed for several
days. Friends were mighty glad
to see him out again Wednesday.

Funeral services were conduct
ed Friday, March 12 for Mrs. I.
F. Carr at Macedonia Baptist
Church. Rev. George W. McFar
land and Joe A. Moore officiated
and burial was in the Jones fam
ily cemetery.
Mrs. carr is survived by five
sons. Wilbur L. Council. Irwin
ton; Cosby t ouncil. Curry and
Louie Carr, all of Milledgeville,
and a sister, Mrs. C H. Fountain
of Gordon; grandchildren and

Mrs J. F. M ood o f Dacula,
who has spent the winter down
in South Georgia, is spending a
few weeks with her daughter,
Mrs. Allen Dixon, before return
ing home.
News of the death of Mr. How
ard Stephens was learned Tues
day The funeral was held in Ten
nille Wednesday morning. Mr.
Stephens and his family lived in
Toomsboro at one time. He was
an elder brother of Mr H E.
Stephens and has many friends
in this community He is surviv
ed by his wife and two sons. Kir
by and Tommy Stephens and two
grand-daughters.
Visiting recently with Mr and
Mrs. Jes^e Tompkins were the
Jchn U Hamilton family, Macon
and the Roy Underwood family
of Dry Branch. Mrs. Tompkins
has returned to Macon Hospital
for an indefinite period of time.
Mrs. Estelle Downs spent the
weekend with Mr. Mrs. Ralph
Lord in Gordon.
Mr. Mrs. Richard Montgomery
of Atlanta were home for the
weekend.
