GRANTHAM - BRAGG
The many friends of “Billy.”
Wilmer E. Bragg Jr., will be in
terested to know that he and Miss
Sara Grantham were united in
marriage on March 31, the cere
mony being performed in Macon
by the Reverend Clapp. 'Billy, a
member of the Marine Corps, has
been stationed for some time at
Parris Island, S. C., but is being
transferred to Jacksonville, Fla.,
where the young couple will live
when she joins him in the near
future. In the meantime she is
employed at Woolworth’s, Macon
Toomsboro Topics
We welcomed the shower of
rain this afternoon. Maybe our
trees will escape a burning. It
hurts to see all the pretty (little
and big) pine trees that have
been burned around in the coun
ty.
Sunday afternoon Murray Hall
Jr. was entertaining a group with
his cheerful conversation when
he was called to report a fire
down so’th of town. Just hope
it was put out before much dam
age was done. We haven’t seen
nor heard from Murray since.
Toomsboro has been disturbed
and very much concerned over
the sudden and serious illness of
Don Lane, son of Mr. and Mrs
Earl Lane and a sophomore of
Toomsboro High School. He was
carried to Richard Binion Clinic
Saturday in an unconscious con
dition. but we have just learned
that he is slightly improved this
afternoon. (Monday.)
Mr and Mrs. Charlie Matthews
of Augusta and Miss Marion Hol
liman were weekend guests of
the J. H. Hollimans.
Friends of Mrs. Hoy ward Lord
hope that she will be strong and
well soon. She has had one blood
transfusion and is getting ready
for an operation at an early date
To see the vim and vitality she’s
always seemed to have, we could
not realize anything could b e
wrong with her. Best wishes,
Iris!
Have just watched the cute
bunch of Irwinton students on
TV and enjoyed their program.
However we did recognize that
Irwinton couldn’t claim all o f
them!
Mrs. J. E. Hogue just called to
tell us she wishes everyone would
come and see the beautiful flow
ers she has for Easter! The Eas
ter corsage, without which no
Easter costume is complete, gets
first attention. Next, the many
lovely potted plants, Eat ter lilies
hydrangeas, gloxinias, geranium
azaleas, caladiums, and begmias.

THE GLEE CLUB from Fred Waring’^ famed Pennsylvanians lifts
its voices in the “Song of Easter” while rehearsing for General
Electric’s annual Easter program over CBS-TV. For millions of
Americans Waring’s traditional Easter Sunday television show has
become a regular part of their observance of this sacred season.
The half-hour (9 to 9:30 p.m. EST)'will be devoted entirely to
orchestral and choral arrangements of Easter music with sponsor
G.E. relinquishing the time customarily devoted to the commercial
message. (ANS Features)*

if Miss Fave Culpepper Witsell is
