Easter egg hunts were held at
the homes, at school and at the
churches. The most different
one was the one given by Mrs. A
D. Ware for her Junior Class.
She let the children boil, dye and
hunt the eggs.
Mrs, Margaret Wickcliffe, who
has been our depot agent for a
number of years, is transferring
to Gordon this week. She will be
replaced by a young man. We are
going to miss Miss Margaret.
There was a nice looking voung
man in the Easter Parade with
Dorothy Ann Fordham, coming
over from Woodland. He seems
to be coming to town quite often
these days.
We were sorry to learn that
Mr. J. E. Holliman of Mclntyre
is at Binion’s Clinic after suffer
ing a stroke that paralized his
left side.
Rev and Mrs. George Herndon
of Atlanta were in town to see
parents during the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. E B Tanner are
visiting relatives here this week.
Mrs Alice Bridwell of Miami
is spending the week with her
sister, Mrs. R. 0. Bargainer
Mrs Jesse Tompkins is visiting
her parents in Oconee.
Rev. and Mrs, John E Wilson
and sons, Johnny and Guy. of Co
lumbus visited Mr. and Mrs. Hol
liman last weekend.

We hear Poplar Springs is hav
ing a Singing on each 3rd Sunday
beginning at 3p. m. We know
that will be of interest to many
of our people.

Revival closed at the Gordon
Methodist Church after a week
of sermons by Rev. John Lough,
pastor at Dublin. Rev. Emmett
Roberts, our regular pastor,
should be commended on invit
ing Rev. Lough to be with us, for
he brought us sermons which
were inspiring, uplifting and en
joyed by all. Good attendance
was enough evidence that the
services were very beneficial to
all.
Sunrise Easter services were
held Sunday at 7 a. m. at the
Methodist Church in a joint ser
vice with the Baptist Church
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Camp spent
Sunday here with their mother.

COUNTY-WIDE VACCINATION
Wilkinson County has been declar
ed a rabies emergency area by the
State Department of Health Eight
cases of radies have been reported and
four persons have been bitten by ra
bid animals.
At the April meeting of the coun
ty commissioners it was voted to co
operate in sponsoring a county-wide
drive to have all dogs treated.
A new vaccine, good for four years,
will be used. All dogs or other anim
als played with by children should be
vaccinated, whether or not they have
been vaccinated this year with other
types of vaccine. There is no cost to
dog owners- All work and vaccine is
free.
Dr. Smalley will do the vaccinaton
with the County Health Department
and County and Home Demonstration
Agents assisting in record keeping.

Marine Base and left here Sun
day for an 8 month’s cruise on
the Mediterranean, after a weeks
visit with his mother and Mr.

continues ill at Richard Binion
Clinic. He suffered a stroke last

were christened at church Easter
morning.
We attended church services
at the Presbyterian Church, Mil
ledgeville, Sunday. So did Mr.
and Mrs. Victor Kaminsky and
Mr. and Mrs Perry Dominy. Dr
and Mrs. Albert’s son. Teddy,
was received into the church In
the afternoon we went out to
Lake Sinclair and met Mr. and
Mrs. Thad Player. Small world!
The WSCS and the Wesleyan
Guild gave a surprise Stork Sho
wer at the parsonage Saturday
afternoon for Mrs. E. M Phillips.
The BWC met Monday night
with Mrs. J. B. Kopp.
Mr. John Porter is ill at Park
View Hospital, Macon.
Raymond Grimes of Mclntyre,
one of our high school boys, is a
patient at Macon Hospital. ‘
