Ensign and Mrs. James spent
four months in Los Angeles land
San Francisco before his ship
sailed for Guam, their marriage
having taken place at the Tooms
boro Methodist Church on Nov.
25.

oring Mrs. James, at the home of
Mrs. Branan. About 40 friends
of the honoree came to enjoy this
delightful occasion

MORLEY E THOMAS
Morley E. Thomas passed away
in Vineland, N. J. Tuesday at
6:00 a. m.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas have
many friends throughout this
section who will be grieved to
learn of his passing. They lived
for a number of years in Tooms
boro and both were active in civ
ic and church work, their sons,
Sidwell and John Knight attend
ed school here. Mrs. Thomas’
mother, Mrs. Cathcart, is buried
in the Toomsboro Cemetery She
lived here and was also loved by
both old and young.
Funeral services for M. E Tho
mas were held in Vineland Wed
nesday and his body was brought
to Macon for burial.
Mrs. Thomas, their two sons
and four grandchildren survive.
John Knight lives at Fitzgerald,
Ga. and Mrs. Thomas’ and Sid
well’s address is 29 Elmwood Av
Vineland, N.J.

JUNIOR - SENIOR BANQUET
The Irwinton Masonic Lodge
entertained the juniors and sen
iors of the Irwinton High School
with a banquet Thursday even
ing April 29.
Miss Izetta Davis, home room
teacher, Mrs. I. E. Everett and
Mrs Julian Bloodworth assisted
the juniors in decorating the
"•gymnasium.
The theme of the decoration
was “In Fair Hawaii’’ Two
shades of blue crepe paper form
ed a canopy for the the gymna
sium. Palm trees and baskets of
flowers, together with the wait
resses, members of the tenth
grade dressed as hula girls gave
tropical air. Beautiful flower ar

Garden Club decorated the tables

Friends sympathize with Mr.
Andrew Mercer in the loss of his
son, Fred Mercer of Milledgeville
Fred died suddenly and his fun
eral was held at the Presbyter
ian Church in Milledgeville on
Sunday afternoon and several

survived by his wife and four
sons.
