Miss Joyce Walker, sister of
the bride, will be maid of honor.
Bridesmaids will be Misses Sue
Bell, Elizabeth Knight and Jon
nie Mae Fountain.
The bride will be given in mar
riage by her step father, Claude
C. Beck.
The groom will have his broth
er, Tennyson Carr as his best
man. Ushers will be J. B. Pierce
Joe Mason Jr. and Bobby Berry.
After the ceremony a recep
tion will be held by the bride’s
parents at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Tommy Roberts in Irwin,
ton. Mrs. James Walker will keep
the bride’s book.
The bride-elect is the daughter
of Mrs. Beck and the late Harold
Walker. She is a graduate of Ir
winton High School, class of ’54.
Her sisters are Joyce and Jean
Walker and her only brother is
Ray Walker.
The groom elect is also a grad
uate of Irwinton Highschool and
a veteran of t h r e e and a half
year’s service with the Navy. He
is now employed at Edgar Bros.

Danville— Funeral services for
W. H. Moore of Route 1, Danville
were conducted in the Mt. Zion
Baptist ( hurch today at 4 p.m.
by the Rev. Jimmy Waters and
the Rev. Ralph Bobo The Mason

ed at the burial.
Mr. Moore was a farmer and a
lifelong resident of Twiggs Coun
ty. He died unexpectedly.
Survivors include his wife; 5
sons. Steve. Clyde, and Felix of
Danville, Tom of Cochran and
Pat of El Paso, Tex.; two daugh
ters, Mrs. Clarence Phillips of
Jeffersonville and Miss Kathleen
Moore of Danville; three brothers
three sisters and 11 grandchild

Mr. Alonza Carr passed away early
Tuesday morning at Scott’s Hospital
where he has been since haying a
stroke two weeks ago.
Elder Carr has spent his life in Wil
kinson County and has many friends
and a large family connection who are
grieved at his passing.
He i^ suryived by his widow, Mrs.
Fannie Weaver Carr, and the follow
ing children: Mrs. Laura Spivey, of
Milledgeville, Mrs. Alice Tarpley of
Manchester, Alton Carr, Soperton,
Mrs Lada Layender, Milledgeville,
Mrs. Nunnette Fordham, Toomsboro,
Jim Carr, Woodland, "Tuck” Carr,
La Fayette, Ala., and Mrs. Frances
Tompkins, Dick Carr and Winfred
(Red) Carr, all of Toomsboro.
Funeral services were held at 3
p. m. Wednesday at Mt, Carmel.
Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Jackson are
spending a while in the mountains.

guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Boyd
Jackson.
Mrs. Mary Ware and Mrs, Lillie
Cottier and little daughter of Auburn
Ala. were guests of Hall and
Miss Willie Mae Hall last weekend.

Mrs. Sidney Miller was hostess to
her society, the WSCS. Monday after
noon at her beautiful country home.
The president, Mrs. C. Thompson,
presided. A splendid program was
presented by the program, Mrs. Bra-'
nau. Dainty refreshments wertseived
to the following ladies: Mesdames
Clarence Thomsson, Jack Thompson,
Herbert Holliman, Clyde Dixon, R. O
Barganief, Lillie Hall, Eugene Lord,
Horace Kelly, A. L. Branan, Mrs,
Wommack and Mrs. Miller.
Edward Haren of Maryville, Tenn.,
and his brother, Jimmy Haren of Tuc
son, Ariz. were recent guests of their
aunt, Mrs. P. M. Jackson and Mr.
Jackson. Edward, a young contractor,
has the contract for the re-doing of
the interior, also modernizing lighting
and heating of the Postoffice in Mill
edgeville.

The Bilue Family Reunion was
held at Bear Camp Lake Sunday.
At this meeting they were organ
ized into a family association, the
date for the annual reunion to be
the last Sunday in July. Mr. Jeb
Billue was elected president of

Mrs Mary Adkins visited rela
tives in Glennwood last week,
going down with her sister, Mrs.
Jenny Wvnn and grandson, Rob
in Wynn, who came for her on

went for her Sunday.
Mrs. N. H. Bacon spent four
days in Lexington and brought
Miss Katie Bacon home with her.
Miss Katie has been quite ill. We
hope she soon will be feeling
much better.

fish pond July 24. Fishing was
enjoyed during the afternoon,
and a picnic supper was served
at 8 o’clock.

We heard of another wedding
last week. Jesse Pierce Green,
and Miss Hazel Jane Roberts of
Dublin are the bride and groom.
They will make their home in
Dublin. Mr. Green is the son of
Mr and Mrs. U J. Green.
