MISS TRAPNELL SPEAKS TO CLUB
Miss Emily Trapnell, of Mill,
edgeville, Rotary exchange stu
dent in 1953-54 to Peru, held the
rapt attention of the Tifton Rot
ary Club members there last
week when she related some of
her adventures in the Latin Am
erican country.
Miss Trapnell was chosen to go
to Peru for study by a five-man
board cf Rotary District 3 41,
headed by George P. Donaldson
The attractive voung girl said
she had studied Spanish and
longed for a chance to speak it
in a country where it was the
common language. The Univer
sity of San Marcos, which she at
tended, is the oldest university
in the western hemisphere, hav
ing been formed in 1551.
Miss Trapnell stayed i n the
home of the Rotary president in
Lima because the university has
no dormitories for students.
While in South America she
visited Colombia, Chile, Argen
tina and Uruguay.
We still claim Emily and Lau
ra Delle as our own, since they
spent their childhood here, and
we are interested in all the won_

to them
