ideas. Now they’re not all world
beaters, but Cappy is usually will

Seems Squint found a new way
to clear brush. They take two trac
tors, about thirty feet apart, and
connect them with a heavy chain
weighted down on the ground with
old iron. First they both go par
allel in one direction, then they go
back over the same swath in the
opposite direction and up comes
the brush—roots and all. Worked
fine and saved time.

JUNIOR SENIOR BANQUET
AND DANCE AT RICHMOND
HILL A BIG SUCCESS—

Friday night, May 6th., the
Junior Class of Richond Hill
High Schooll entertained the
Seniors with a banquet and
dance at the community house.
Those present were: Seniors.
Lamar Brigdon, Bertie Car
penter, Lillie Davis, Reba Davis
Doris Dukes, Betty Findley,
Jackie Miner, Louise Moore,
Moore, Gene Saxon, Juanita
Shuman, and Evelyn Smith.

McCallister, Arthur Parker,

The program was opened
with the blessing by Rev. Ber
ger Howard, followed by a re
sponse which was sung by the
entire group.
Evelyn Tucker, president of
the Junior Class, gave a wel
come speech.
Toasts were given by the fol
lowing;
To Seniors—Glory Thompson,
Vice-President of Junior Class;
To Juniors—Doris Dukes, Pres
ident of the Senior Class;
To FaCuhy—Lamar Brigdon, a
member of the Senior Class.
To School—Louise Moore, Vice
President of Senior Class.
Response was given by Mr.
S. C. Mashburn, Principal of
the school.
After the toasts and response
the Junior Class sang “Some
where Over The Rainbow.’’
The banquet tables were at
tractive with lighted tapers
and all colors colors of the rain
bow.
The ballroom was decorated
with hanging festoons of green
vines, At one side circling
over an open chimney was a
very large rainbow this was
reflected on the opposite side
by a small rainbow. Both had
a pot of gold placed at each end
During the intermission, the
Junior Superlatives were given
by Bertie Carpenter, and the
Senior Will by Reba Davis.

demonstration cn cleaning of

At the close of the meeting,

the big day for the picture
taking of your youngsters The
Pembroke Journal' is having pic
tures taken of all children who
are brought by their parents
or other guardian to the Com
munity House between 1 P. M.
and 8 P. M. absolutely free of
charge. The Woltz-Allen Stu
dio’s, nationally known chil
drens photographers will be in
charge. The Pembroke Jour
nal wants a picture of your
child ti print in its forthcoming
feature, ‘Citzens of Tomorrow’
a series of phtotoraphic stud
ies ot children. The more we get

Miss Betty Jean Harvey',

C. Harvey of Lanier, has been
made a member of the Senior
Honor Society at the Georgia
State Woman’s College at Val
dosta.
Inclusion in this organization
indicates superior achievement
in a student’s academic work.
Miss Harvey was officially re
cognized for her attainment on
Honors Day, held recently at
G9WC.
