Strickland Family
Honors Birthday
Os Mother
Mrs. Marvin Strickland was
honored on her 73rd birthday when
her children, grandchildren, sisters,
brothers and a few fiends gathered
at the family home near Claxton
and Daisy. Among those attending
were several from Pembroke.
Mrs. Strickland and the late
Mr. Strickland have seven sons
and two daughters, all of whom
were present with their families.
The delicious dinner was spread
on tables shaded by the large
trees in the yard and was enjoyed
by all.
Showing new members of the
families since the last get-together
and happy fellowship was the
order of the day.
Present from Bryan County were
a son, Marcus Strickland, Pem
broke; two daughters, Mrs. G. D.
Hendrix and Mrs. Tommie Can
nady, Ellabelle; and Rev and Mrs.
Clinton Ward, Pembroke.
Other children were Louis P.
Strickland, Daisy; Ernest W.
Strickland, Dwight Strickland,
Leon L. Strickland, and Virgil
Strickland, Claxton; and Clyde
Strickland, Pooler. Their wives and
children also attended.
A complete count showed that
there were 21 grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren present.
MRS. H. A. GEYER
REMAINS PATIENT
IN HOSPITAL
It is a source of much regret
that Mrs. H. A. Geyer is still a
patient in the Bulloch County
Hospital. The mother of L. M.
Geyer, Pembroke, was admitted
to the hospital three weeks ago
for the second time in recent
months.
Mrs. Geyer was making a visit
to her son and Mrs. Geyer when
she became ill and was rushed to
the hospital. The first time she
was also there for several weeks,
but on eventual improvement
was released and returned to her
son’s home here. The latest at
tack of illness caused her to re
enter the hospital.
Mrs. Geyer is from Memphis,
Tennessee, and has made a host
of friends during her visits here
throughout the years. They all
hope she is making progress and
will soon be able to leave the
hospital.

MISS STRICKLAND
IS WITH PARENTS
DURING VACATION
Friends of Miss Mildred Strick
•land are happy to see her during
her stay here with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Stickland.
Miss Strickland has been con
nected with Kress Store in Sa
vannah for 16 years. She is book
keeper for the store and has been
a valued employee throughout her
long stay with the company.
The many family connections
will doubtless gather at the Strick
land home during Miss Strick
land’s vacation, as her work keeps
her in Savannah most of the time
and she does not find time often
enough to make a lengthy visit
with her parents here.
