Getting Set for |
'62-63 Session
Bryan County’s schools are cur
rently undergoing a program of
general house-cleaning, including
painting, renovating, yard work,
and, in some instances, building,
preparatory to the beginning of
the 1962-63 session, ‘
At Richmond Hill the erection of
a new school building holds top
spot in the activities of the coastal
section. A general clean-up pro- !
gram is also going on at George
Washington Carver,
l At Black Creek the progress of
the new lunchroom is being kept
up with by students and patrons.
It should be ready for occupancy
not too long after the beginning of
school.
The same general program of
’rvpuirs is underway at Mill Creek
Elementary School and Pembroke
‘High School. Both will be ready
for students when the opening day
comes around.
At Bryan County High School
the new drive and sidewalks are
of particular interest. The gym
nagium has already been put in
good shape for the physical educa
tion program and work continues
on the inside of the other buildings
and on the grounds of the two eam
puses,
Mrs. F. M. Crawford, Charles
ton, 8. C., spent a few days in
Pembroke last week because of the
illnegs of her mother, Mrs, F. J.
Lanier,
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Scott,
Auburndale, Fla.,, were recent
guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy

Why should “dog days”
bother people? enjoy summer
with flameless electric air conditioning
teveeveone
Take the bite out of summer's mugegy “dog
days” with modern electric air conditioning.
All air conditioners use some electricity. Bus
the best air conditioners use only electricity.
An electrie unit consumes no oxygen: re
quires no costly fuel pipes, water pipes, wates
towers or flues. Eagily installed, it cools,
Spring-freshens and circulates air, controls
humidity . . . filters out unwanted dust and
pollen. Keeps you totally comfortable. Add
a room-size or a house-size unit—and another
step to wonderful total-electric living. Call
us or your favorite electric appliance dealer.
Ask how we can pay up to S2OO toward wiring
your house so you can live better electrically,
