One of the finer homes that it has been the pleasure of Ye Editor to visit, is that of our good friends, Mr. and Mrs. J. Perr Rushing near
Richmond. It was built by a master carpenter and he left no stone unturned, it is beyond our description, and defies description. Has 4 bedrooms,
each with a private bath fit for a “Queen”, large closets, large den, a beautiful dining room, and the kitchen would be the envy of any woman. Their
living room is in line with the house. The home was fitted with new furniture, rugs, drapes and what not and was selected by a man that makes
a specialty of that. And it is the first home we have ever seen that the back is just as pretty as the front of the house. It is equipped with special
lighting, such as indirect lighting etc. Ye Editor and his wife have an invitation to spend a day or so with them soon, and that is just what we are
going to do. We would like to be in a mansion as a “guest” at least once.

Editor and Wife
Will Take Short
Vacation Dec. 25
Having had a hard year, both
trying to make a dollar, and
then looking after the city’s
business, plus running for the
job again, it has made the Edi
tor put in many hours at one
job or the other. So this will
be the last paper for us until
the new year rolls around, then
we hope to be back, bigger and
better than ever, and for the
'.M
year 1968 The Pembroke Journ
al will be the Official Organ for
Bryan County, that is it will
be the paper in which all legal
advertisements will be printed.
While taking life easy dur
ing the holidays we will visit
the “yunguns” in the nearby
little cities, then on Christmas
evening we will head over to
South Carolina for a short visit
with the brothers and sister of
Mrs. Miller, then we will eome
back and get bn the job, and
promise our efforts to make the
paper a better one than ever
before.
