Camps
Owing to the wet weather all
the railroad contractors are hous¬
ed up. while the negroes and
some of the white boys are visit¬
ing the haunts of the moonshiner
to wet their lips with the spark¬
ling mountain dew.
F. J. Blackwell gave a corn
husking last Friday which was
quite a success, as he got his corn
husked and stored away in his
crib, after which we were all
marched away to thedini igroom
where there was a nice dinner
awaiting us. We were next ush¬
ered into the parlor and were
entertained the remainder of the
evening by Mr. and Mrs. Black
well and their charming daugh¬
ters. Among the party present
were R. fe. Mason, J. Clark, K.
Tucker, George, E. F. and 0. A.
Arnett. Andy Rigsby and many
others. We had such a nice time
we were loath to leave the good
people and return to the camps
to reflect on the past.
Mason Bros, and Arnett Bros,
have completed their work on
the A. K. & N. and are making
preparations to move to their
work down on the B. & A. near
Birmingham. Harvey.
