Federal Court Clerk
For Nortltern Georgia.
Known by, it might l>s said,
nearly every resident of each of
the counties making up the Unit¬
ed States court for the northern
district of Georgia is W. Colquitt
Carter, clerk of that court.
And by everyone he knows he
is admired and liked—admired
because of bis universal kind¬
ness, liked because lie is ever
and always ready to lend a help
iug hand to those who are brought
about him through some lega’
process, bringing them in contact
with linn.
Colquitt Carter. It is a name
that never goes amiss in Georgia.
In fact, both factors of that name
recall history makers, not on I v
in the state and the south, but
throughout the nation. But of
that lat history take care for it
self.
As clerk to national court for
the northern disdrict of Georgia,
over which Hon. William 1.
Newman is now the presiding
judge, Mr. Carter has shown his
clerical ability and has drawn
about him friends from the plain?
of Cobb and Coweta, from the
vales of Douglas and Dawson and
from the hillsides of Fannin and
Forsyth. As a keeper of the
records of the court for the nort! -
era district, Mr. Carter has been
in contact with jurors, witnesses
and even defendants brought to
the court by legal process. Dary
during those official gatherings
ho met the man in affluent cir¬
cumstances as well as the man
who had strained not his purse,
but mayhap his physical endur
ance to reach Atlanta. To the
former lie was ever courteous
and pleasant. To the latter he
was ever kind and sympathetic,
The first needed not* his help.
The last may have Reeded. And
whenever and wherever that help
was needed it was forthcoming
even at the expense of Mr. Car¬
ter. In serving those with whom
he had to deal he recognized no
distinction. The man whose skin
had been bronzed under the rays
of the Georgia sun and the man
with city clothes have always
been alike to him. He has shown
no distinction, none whatever,
fiie barber shop rule applied so
far as Clerk Carter was con
cerned.
A? a clerk he ha? shown a
aided proficiency. His> work is
always up to date. Knowing that
Kn0 4 niea only can do good work,
he ha ® drawn about him a force

work with Mr. Garter, because
Mr. Carter is Irmfelt- quick aiitl
accurate.
Ever pleasas t g nial snl liap
py, it is almost impossible for
those a boat him to lie otherwise.
Never a cross word does he speak
to Ids subordinates in the pres
enee of others. Hut when
draws one to the rack there is
little fodder therein so
and posit , ively does lie express
himself.

Of old Georgia families he

he loves the state of h:s nativity,

None too large of stature he

seven inches it may be, lie stands,
Rr >atl of shoulders, with a strong,

Nothing will relieve Indiges¬

of digestion off the digestive or¬

work itself does greatly assist the
stomach to a thorough rest. In
addition the ingredients of Kodol
