Well, the election is over, so
let us stop talking politics for a
while and tu 1 k obout something
else. Well, good roads for in
stance. A lot is being said about
the roads in this and adjoining
counties. Most anyone seems to
know the remedy, but where is
the one to apply it? But you will
notice that the remedies are dif
ferent, so I give you mine; apply
it if you wish. When you find a
bad place in the road, from any
cause, fix it before it gets worse.
1 will refer you to a place on the
turnpike road near the ford of
Mill creek, 1018th district, (and
it is a rural route, too,) where
the 1st of November, 1006, ten
wagonloads of rock would have
made it good; now it would take
titty wagonloads to make it good,
Hence the saying: “A stitch in
time saves nine.” Besides all
this we have had to drag through
this all winter. Will say
that the present condition does
not show any appreciation of the
rural service which we now have.
And it may be that Uncle Sam
1S looking after this matter, too.
So something is up against us;
Qt us see if we can find out
it is. J. it. Spears.

are on cold days,

Our patrons what they want. We do not try to induce
them to take something else. If a customer wants Hood’s
Sarsaparilla, lie gets Hood’s Sarsaparilla. He is not im-j
portuned to take our own make. We like to treat our
customers right. It is both pleasant and profitable. We
have built up the largest drug establishment in Dalton by
gratifying our patrous’ wishes. There is no reason why
everybody in Murray County should not trade here. We
can give them decidedly the best service and our prices
are fixed altogether according to what things are worth.
