tives and friends, returned to
his home in Atlanta yesterday.
E. S. Kenner, who has been

Miss Emma Dorsey, Ao years

committed suicide by first taking
carbolic acid and immediately
thereafter a dose of paris green.

Torn Craig, a section hand on
the L. & N. railroad at Ramhurst,
was run over and killed by a
freight train Tuesday evening.

seems that Craig, in making an
attempt to jump, fell backwards
on the track, the train passing
over his body, killing him in

Judge Cudger went to Cran¬
dall Saturday where he met Mr.
McCormick Road Master for the
L. A jN. for the purpose of mak¬
ing arrangements for a road
crossing at that place, which if
secured, will he of great conven¬
ience to the citizens of Crandall
and surrounding country. When
it comes to looking after the in¬
terest of the general pub'ic. the
Judge is there with the goods.
He says Crandall is a nice little
town and that he will do all in
his power to secure the crossing.
The Judge says lie met a num¬
ber of his friends and had a nice
time while there, but the best
of all, was the dinner he put
himself on the outside of pre¬
pared by Mrs. Robert Gregory,

the day. There is some valuable
work being done along this line,
and when they are graveled, we
can travel with pleasure in all
seasons.
School at this place closed last
Friday, to the regret of the pu¬
pils who are making efforts
toward cultivation of their men¬
tal powers.
Mrs. Mary Walton, who has
been visiting her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Steve Anderson, took
her departure last week to visit
other relatives, before returning
to her home in Augusta. Her
many friends are always glad
when siie comes into the com¬
munity for a stay.
John Howard, of Bass, Tex., is
visiting W. F. Howard and oth¬
er relatives at this place.
Luther McMahan, of Sweet
Water, Tenn., visited Miss Mat
tie Anderson last week.
