The Fourth at Chatsworth.
Wet! Wet!! WET!!!
The day was ushered in with
a grand salute, not with powder
and smoke, but a thunder storm
of good proportions.
Then, as if to show just what
he could do, the weather man
tun^u himself loose, so to speak,
and sent a dozen others just like
the first one.
A goodly sized crowd gathered
(luring the day and put in the
time as best they could, good
naturedly to some extent, there
being only one arrest during the
day.
Full preparations had been
made to carry out the program as
advertised. All night long a fire
had been glowing under the bar¬
becue, stacks of bread and an
abundance of cake testified the
generosity of the citizens of
Chatsworth.
The fine new hall park with
grandstand was ready for the ball
game. The crack nine from Co
hulta Junction was on hand but
owing to the condition of the
weather the sport was impossible.
Balloons were sent up between
showers.

pared and dispensed some de¬
licious ice cream and lemon
sherbets.
Much credit is due to the may¬
or and those who assisted him in
making all Dreparations.
Although the celebration was
not what was expected, vet the
generous showers were a great
help to the farming interests.
Long live the fourth !
