Hon. William J. Bryan,
Democratic nominee for the
presidency, has made an ap¬
peal to the Democrats of the
country for contributions to
the Democratic campaign
fund, suggesting that Demo¬
cratic newspapers act as so*

agents in their localities.
THE NEWS will receive all
contributions and promptly
forward them to the treas¬
urer of the National Demo¬
cratic Campaign Committee.
Gordon Lee has been men¬
tioned as a probable candidate

cultural school, located at
Powder Springs, will open its

We are expecting news at

The first gun of the presi¬
dential campaign has been
fired in Ohio by Governor
Hughes, of New York, and
Senator Beveridge, but the
gun was only loaded with gas
and hot air and no one was
injured.
The latest snake story has
just arrived from Pennsylva¬
nia, and is to the effect that a
black snake swallowed a cast
iron frog, which was used as
a door prop, weighing four
pounds, also swallowing two
half grown rabbits.
A state campaign has been
mapped out by the Democrats
of Georgia and a campaign
committee has been appointed
in each eongresstonel district.

district are G. R. Hutchens,of
Polk, chairman; W.C. Bunn,
of Folk; C. N. King, of Mur
ray; II. P. Meickleham, of
Floyd; G. H. Aubrey, of
Bartow.

hours work. We pay 10
cents per hour for all pro¬
ductive services rendered by
boarding pupils. Some have
