nent arrangements for their mines to
be opened up. Mr. O. C.Goins is their
resident buisness manager and has
been hustling things in developing the
stone. There is an exhaustive deposit
of talc on those lots and these gentle¬
men have acted wisely in investing as
they did. We are glad to see old Mur¬
ray coming to the front.

pained to chronicle the death of
Mas. Martha Hooper, which oc
cuired oa the 17th, inst. Her sis.
ter from near Kansas City, Mo., ar*
rived at her bedside a few days be
fore her death. The bereaved bus
band, children and other relatives
have our deepest condolence.
John Gasaway’ a worthy citizen
of this vicini tp, was accidentally
shot and Killed last Sunday at Pet
tin’s saw mill, Mrs Pe tit was I
handling a pistol which she
thought was not loaded anp it was
discharged, taking effect in Gasa
way’s brest, from which he died in
about an hour.
It is a very sad thing to die and
appear before God. Let us all be
prepared to meet our maker.
