correct this foul and einiiderons statc
tneotin yittir next issue. To begin with.
I have no <ti qxisilion to injure Murray
county, nor a single one of her good
citizens, many of whom are tnv
sonal friends. I saw hi ‘the tj.onstitu
tiona long account of Jfliu "murder
"Worley, containing many errors, 'this
articie located the murder in Murray
county, and hud conaideraWo to siv
about the knklux. Uy Uiis time, the
coroner of tiilmcr county, with the or
dinary tne sheriff and a pliy. iei'.ui bad

man to exoimrute Murrnv ,, counts. ,
though to do so, ] had to it-move the
stain of thia diabolical crime, from yeur
county an I place it upon my own
county. I did not write tim first urtido
in th« Constitution. I wrote the reply
to it, quoting the evidence before thv
coroner s jury. 1 tinJ Murray county a
favor. Now if you wish to do so, hitva
the editor of Hie Constitution, the tela
graph operator ot Elijay, the coroner,
ordinary and siiPiiff of Gilmer county
sworn and compare tuy sncrial to the
CuiiAlitution, with tho evidence before
tilt? Coroner and piildieh it, and your

The,above is a complete answer, to the
Jimplkih.'tk'k enquiry, and ttn* party
who first sUrlco ltd* report, that I
wrote what I never wrote, either will
fitlly or ignorantly lied, jib the two ttr *
ticloa in the Constitution were very dif

author asghown upon their face.
TTio publication, in full of the above
card and post-script wilt tot bitty
fully, my only object being to get the
truth- of the matter before the people
of Murray county, and now to close I
vyiti eay to'the editor of the JiMi v Uvci;tk,
who seems to be very fair, when you
heat of another set of lies being told,
go to the bottom of the matter and von
will find that I have not slandered your
county. T. U. Tahou.
We gladly giye space to the above
from the pen of Mr. Tabor in vindica¬
tion of himself in bring charged with
the authorship of tho aluudurous ar¬
ticle which appeared in tho Atlanta
Constitution in reference to the killing
ef llenry Worley. Wanro perfectly con¬
fident that our informant did not in¬
tend to injure the good name aud char¬
acter of Mr. Tabor. * He onlv stated
that the information hud reached him
that Mr. Tabor whs the author of the
article in question and as a loyal citizen
of Murray county tie naturally wanted
it collected and the author of it ex¬
posed, and also requeued us to extend
in the article tut invitation for Mr Ta¬
bor to deny it if Ins did not write il ■
We have confidence in the high charac¬
ter and honeaty of Mr. Tabor and fee!
proud to be able to do him the jus¬
tice of correcting the report that lie had
been guilty of falsifying. The follow¬
ing is the notice which appeared in the
Ji mj’ and from which the Argus received
it.a misconception and stated that we
said “positively” that Mr. Tabor wrote
the article:
Ot Till: iB U 5..
*‘A citizen of Spring Place dnippod in¬

that the cotHuiocd report of nine tiare-fuced of Henry
