vegetation is dying as the re¬
sult of it.

farmers are busy. The wheat
croy is very good,
A warm '^rain would be of
much benefit to crops.

Wo see in the Jimp the pro¬
ceedings of a mass meeting in
Spring Place last Tuesday and
this community fully endoises
every resolution. W e think
the resolutions should have
been amended by adding: “We
ommeud the editor of the
JiMPLECUTE for his boldness in
defending our county against
the slanderous reports in circu¬
lation charging lawlessness to
our people in such sweeping
and untrue terms.*' Let us all
take our county paper at d get

RamSey, June 11.—The
signs of the times are better in
this locality socially, political¬
ly and} morally. The people
are very cheerful and hospita¬
ble.
Corn and cotton growing*
’though rain is needed.
I find much less excitement
over candidates and politics
than in the past. The people
appear to- be informed on the
general issue.
The homes in this section are
well supplied with New Testa¬
ments and the people nearly all
attend Sunday school and
preaching., Religious subjects
aie pleasantly ^discussed and
the various-tissues*’ have been
relegated to the rear.
Some, of these good people
are sick. Mr. P. ‘Duncan has
two sick children. Sister Isa
ac Sbalton is quite sick.
An interesting service was
held here Sunday for grandma
Ramsey, which was very well
attended.
All this section deeply sym¬
pathizes with Mr. W. Groves
ami family whose infant died
yesterday and was buried to¬
day at Mt. Zion with impress¬
ive services.
I feel glad that the people
express so much interest in the
Sunday School Conference late¬
ly organized in this county.
Hope the delegates will ali at
ten! the first meeting at Cen¬
ter Valley on Saturday before
the 3rd Sunday in July.
The first load of lumber for
repairing and building tents at
the Campground will be hauled
