For Governor,

For Secretary ef State,
A. Ii. CANDLER.
For Treasurer,
R. If. HARDEMAN.
For Comptroller General,
W. A. WRIGHT.
For Attorney General,
J.M, TERR ELI,.
For Commissioner of Agriculture,
a. T. NESBITT.
For Congress, 7th, Congressional Diet,.
JOHN W, MADDOX.
Far Senator, 13rd, Senatorial District,
TRAMMELL STARK.
For Representative, Murray County,
HETU A. GREGORY.
8Urr-4*l Mens.
This being, according to an un¬
written law among tho people,
Whitfield county’s lime to name
the candidate for State senator of
this district it is mete and proper
that the people of the three conn
tiea support the choice of the vo¬
ters of that countv.
Now, let un see who is 1 ho choice
el Whitfield county.
Guldens was nominated on the
third party ticket in that county at
a mass meeting, receiving about
•80 out of 86 voteb.
Does/t admit of reason to even
assert that such a vote as this can
voice the c-hoico of that county?
No.
BUurr was chosen by the deino
ersts of thet county in a primary
sleet,ion, receiving 652 ontofG78
votes cast.
rVith such facts as these is it not
plain to the people of Murray and
Gordon as to who they are pledged
to support?
We think so.
8t*rr is, without doubt, the
choice of the yeomanry of Whit¬
field comity and it is the lounden
duty of every fair minded voter of
the connties of Murray and Gordon
to give him their support, for, has
not Whitfield stood rijuarely up to
the pledge and supported tho can¬
didates put out by these two coun¬
ties in every instance for years?
Then, in the name of political
honesty and in the faev of the rota¬
tion pledge, would it do right for
the friends of any previous incum¬
bent to cast a vote against honest,
faithlul and worthy Trammell
Starr—the candidate of VV bitfield
county under the rotation contract?
We think not.
Leaving-out all party principles
there is no possible comparison that
can bo made between the fitness
and qualifications of the two can¬
didates for this high trust.
Riley Guldens lias been a sort
of universal genius and without a
single instancy an absolute - failure
At everything.
He is at present representative of
his county, elected on the “Dispen¬
sary ticket ’ and wo understand In¬
troduced a bill in the last legislat¬
ure toward the promotion ot hie
pledges and lost it! What sort©!
fealty is this? Will such utter faith
lossness as this b-a propagated by
the suffrage of the people? 1
Guldens’ faults as a servant of
the people cannot be obliterated
by his qualifications, for unhap¬
pily, for him, he has no qualifica¬
tions worthy ot distinction.
On the other hand Trammel]
Starr has been a very successful
practitioner ol the iaw, become so
by liis strict and energetic attend¬
ance to the business minuted to
him by his client*.
lie has the ability and will make
this district an able, conscientious,
and intelligent representative
and tlies people are just as sure So
elect him as the sun shines, and
put their stamp of disapproval on
such brazen tffronteiy as is exhib¬
ited by Ait. Giduens in presuming
to seek their votes when Iub qualifi
cstiims are so intensely insiginii
eant.
