called in to see us while in the city last

Rev. D. W. Cloer, of Fort Mountain,
called in to see us Monday morning, and
iu the course of his conversation, said in
substance, that The Jimp was the best
week.y paper iuGeorgia and that it always
made him feel belter to read it, Ue ap¬
preciate and thank Mr. Cloer for the nice
compliment.
Twenty-four members of this Camp of
Confederate Veterans have failed to pay
their National dues for the current year.
This money has to be sent to headquarters
by April 1st , and Adjutant Tom Rams -y
requests us to state that he wid be com¬
pelled to drop all from the roster who
have not paid by that date -
Thomas H. Dili, Esq., mayor of this
town and the sworn l'oe of our lighting
editor, has a heart in him as big as a wash
pot. Last week he gave us a sack full of
the nicest kind of luruip greens and we
have been hugging the whom tow n coun¬
cil ever since. In all seriousness, the coun¬
cil is the best kind of an institution and
don’t mean a bit of harm by them fool or¬
dinances. We would say more, but the
greens weren’t very greasy.
